Historia
A friendly feline and a feisty librarian merrily roll along in the newest Bookmobile Cat mystery...until murder stops them in their tracks! It's the summer season in Chilson, Michigan, and the town is packed with tourists ready for a fabulous Fourth of July fireworks show. Minnie Hamilton and her rescue cat, Eddie, have spent a busy day on the bookmobile, delivering good cheer and great reads to even the library's most far-flung patrons. But Minnie is still up for the nighttime festivities, eager to show off her little town to her visiting niece, Katrina.

Fun, light, cozy mystery
Revisado: 05-07-24
I've really been enjoying these books overall, but some of the character decisions can be distracting. I can only guess they reflect views of the author. For instance, who goes around recommending The Fountainhead at random? And why can't Minnie adapt to her niece's name change? Kate and Katrina are not even that different. And why is she so loyal to her boss, no matter how foolish they are? It's very weird. Anyway, it's overall really fun, but I'm frustrated by some of the choices. Great to listen to while doing things like making art or doing chores, for sure.

Historia
Once upon a time, circus artist Trix Lane was the best around. Her spark vanished with her confidence, though, and reclaiming either has proved...difficult. So when the star of The Festival of Masks is nixed and Trix is unexpectedly thrust into the spotlight, it’s exactly the push she needs. But the joy over her sudden elevation in status is cut short by a new hire on the makeup team. Leo Magasiva: disgraced wizard of special effects. He of the beautiful voice and impressive beard. Complete dickhead and - in an unexpected twist - an enragingly good kisser.

Fun, hot, excellent pacing, likable characters
Revisado: 01-08-21
Lucy Parker makes compelling, fun romances and this is no exception. BFB's performance was great and it was fun to hear what Lily was up to after the events of Pretty Face.
Fun stuff included some sex with the risk of getting caught, if that's a thing you like.

I've never read a book about attachment so thoroughly clear, affirming and non shaming. Very very good.

Historia
Take one bored princess. Make her the seventh daughter in a very proper royal family. Have her run away. Add one powerful, fascinating, dangerous dragon. Princess Cimerone has never met anyone (or anything) like the dragon Kazul. But then, she's never met a witch, a jinn, a death-dealing talking bird or a stone prince either. Princess Cimerone ran away to find some excitement. She's found plenty.

This is one of my favorite novels to reread, ever since I was in elementary school. I think the voice actors did a great job with it!

Superb reading of a fantastic tale!

I loved reading this book in print - several times! And the reading offered here is incredibly well done. Richly varied, believable voices, perfect pacing, and from a reader with a mellifluous narrator's voice. I highly recommend it!

Difficult to follow
Revisado: 09-01-16
I usually love Patricia Mckillip's tales in audiobook form, but I found this very hard to follow. I kept feeling that it would make more sense if I were reading it. Perhaps this novel really requires a voice actor who can read in many distinct voices, because it often wasn't until well after a character had been speaking that I knew who it was. In general, the voice was nice and suited to McKillip'd style.

I absolutely love this audio book. I don't think that there is a single other audio book that I have listened to as many times as this one. I really enjoy the way that Patricia McKillip talks about magic and her books and I really love the role that dreams and the love play in her novels. I have recently realized that I think of this book as being so very wonderful in part because it is a love story with all different kinds of love in it. Most love stories only have romantic love but this has so many kinds that it's kind of hard to count them.
