I was raised in the Message cult, and thankfully broke away decades ago. However, I recently stumbled upon this book (by way of the Cultish podcast), and listened to it out of pure curiosity. As I listened to the book, I could only shake my head in disbelief at the level of showmanship, prejudice, and blatant deceit that has been peddled to the cult members. The book not only reaffirmed my decision to leave, but has also motivated me to bring more of my family and friends out with me. Thank you, John, for the thorough and comprehensive research. This is an excellent resource for anyone trying to conceive. The only criticism I have is that the narrator is very difficult to listen to.
