Would you ever listen to anything by the authors again?

Though multiple authors are represented here, I wouldn't look for work by any of them. They were all very amateurish at best.

Would you be willing to try another one of Nichelle Gregory’s performances?

I hate to say it, but I will avoid, at all costs, anything narrated by Nichelle Gregory. Firstly, the sound quality was horrible. It sounded like it was recorded in a bathroom stall. And more importantly, her inflection if so odd and she mispronounces a bunch of words. I doubt seriously this book had a director or editor.

I could have returned it but that would have barred me from writing a review. I am sure in the written form this book might be a bit titillating and maybe curiosity worthy, but this audiobook should be redone if Audible plans on it's continued sales.

WOW, this was not good at all.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

If it had a writing style that sounded less like a high school girl's attempt at erotic fan-fiction and a narrator who could read/act.

Would you ever listen to anything by Francis Ashe again?

Doubt it.

Would you be willing to try another one of Liz Levine’s performances?

Unlikely. I would listen to a preview first and decide if it was more what she was reading here then her ability to read it.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Confusion. I realize this story picks up right where I guess the first one left off (which I didn't read), but even though it only had 3 tiny chapters, I could barely get through them and ended up skipping ahead various times to make it end faster.

Any additional comments?

I like a good paranormal, erotic story as much as the next girl but this seemed so amateurish I was truly surprised it's for sale here. I know I can get my money back, but when you do that, you loose the right to review it and I would like to save the next person's credit. Sorry to the author is she's reading this, but this needs a lot more work.

Would you try another book from Veronica Roth and/or Emma Galvin and Aaron Stanford ?

I liked the the first two books and was really looking forward to this one, but felt like the end of this book took away from my feeling about the entire series. I might be hesitant to invest emotionally in another series if she writes one.

The guys accent really ruined it for me. Also ended very abruptly.

I love a good vampire romance. I love male narrators. I love rough language (or "dirty talk"). I love a few hot love scenes. One would think that I would love this book. Sadly, I did not.

I think my biggest issue was the narrator. Though not horrible, he seemed to have only one, fairly shallow, emotion. Not monotone, just always about the same intensity. More bothersome was his perfect, clear, concise diction. Why is that a problem, you say? Well imagine a sentence peppered with some fairly dirty words, but said in a way that made even my jaded ears oddly uncomfortable! Some of those words need to be almost growled out and not spoken like I'm listening to a Rosetta Stone English lesson. Creeped. Me. Out.

As for the story, it was OK. Nothing revolutionary here. A few too many sex scenes, especially in a fairly short 6 hour book. There were a couple of important scenes that seemed to be cut out, or never written, that were just summed up in a couple sentences after the fact. Both scenes involving Sasa's mother. They just seemed oddly absent. Must have gone to make room for more sex, all of which was not particularly exciting or creative.

Also, there is some kind of editing issue, as there were at least 3 places where a sentence repeated, and I rewound and verified it wasn't my device. (It did it on my phone and on my computer in the same places)

If you are voracious for ANYTHING paranormal, then you might like it. Personally, having read the genre for quite a few years now, it was too formulaic for me. I was hoping to start a new series, but I am not likely to pick up the next book based on this first one.

Would you listen to Heir of Novron again? Why?

Yes, but would start from book one, Loved the entire series. Rich characters I really grew to care about.

Which character – as performed by Tim Gerard Reynolds – was your favorite?

Probably Hadrian, because he's suc a fun character. He voiced them all well and I never had any problem telling the characters apart.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Of course I laughed but I did something I almost NEVER do with books, written or audio...I cried. It took me totally by surprise that I did too and it made me mad since I had to redo my mascara! :)

START FROM THE BEGGINING! It's a must.
