Disappointing

The authors present a partial view of the path of mankind to where we are today. They overlooked all of the technological advantages in many basic areas of life. Discussing the downside without the upside results is one-sides at best. Taking children and young adults to remote jungles etc. was a choice they made, but those are. It realistic possibilities for the vast majority of people on earth.

This is a great resource for someone selling today, not only ten years ago.

Decent story about becoming a disciple of Christ, especially for Catholics

While I was raised Catholic and called myself that for 35 years, I found a new relationship with Christ in non-Catholic churches and Bible study. It is fair to say that I had no relationship prior to leaving the Catholic Church.
The Activated Disciple covers many of the practices that I have found to be true and explained some things (like asking saints to pray for us rather than praying TO saints) I have misunderstood. It is a good read, and don’t get discouraged by all the catechism references. To me those are a distraction from the Word as found in the Bible.

Compelling but too much detail?

I feel like the book could have been about half the length and still had the same impact. The last three chapters brought it all together for me. I feel like the author has an excellent grasp of the subject and agree with his recommendations. Perhaps they will gain some momentum some day soon!

Too much detail

The author goes into way too much detail of the personal lives of the people being discussed. I wanted to hear about their work, the results and validation or reversal of their recommendations over time. It was tough to get through the entire book.

Very inspirational book!

David is an animal, no question! Talk about inspirational, I am in my sixties and want to enlist! Short of that I need a new fitness goal. I work our 5-6 times per week, but need it have a target for what I am working towards.
I also really enjoyed the interaction between David and Adam in the interviews. It brings the stories to life! “Roger that...”
