Historia
Read by two of the UK’s finest stand ups, Charlotte’s Lot is a light-hearted comedy about an infuriatingly self-centered English housewife who strikes up a relationship with a hideously smug celebrity healer. If you’ve ever had your palm read or your aura re-aligned you’ll know the type. Charlotte thinks she’s got everything: a big house, a husband in ship insurance and a pet cat called Missy…. But it’s all about to go wrong and a transformational journey for this super silly simpleton is about to begin.

Light and Fun....until...
Revisado: 12-16-09
This was an enjoyable novel. It was hard to turn it off as following Charlotte through life's ups and downs was so compelling. The narrators were spot on! The voice of Charlotte was very shrill, but she WAS Charlotte. Perfect. It's just that the ending was a let down. Without giving too much away, it just....ended.

Historia
Adrian Mole is 34 and three quarters, almost officially middle-aged, when Mr. Blair tells Parliament that Weapons of Mass Destruction can be deployed in 45 minutes and can reach Cyprus. Adrian is worried that he might not get a refund on his holiday. But that's not all that is bothering him. There's his odd girlfriend Marigold who has become distressingly New Age. And his son Glenn who is in Deepcut Barracks. Would Mr. Blair have been quite so keen if it had been his son manning a roadblock?

I listened to this book a couple of years ago. It's great to see that audible is featuring it. Wonderful, funny book. Great characters. Excellent narrator. I think I'll download it again and have another listen.

Historia
A riotously funny story of love, life . . . and the fine art of sabotage. Meet Melanie and Fran - two charmingly wisecracking young Londoners who simply can't believe it when their old schoolfriend Amanda, Satan's own PR agent, manages to get herself hitched to a laird (Scottish for lord). Who cares that Fraser McConnel has worn the same ratty Converse sneakers for years and that his castle is really a pile of rubble? All the social-climbing queen of preen cares about is the title she'll soon have.

The narrator sounds like Alvin & the Chipmunks with a sinus condition.

How disappointing. Smarmy love scenes and really, really bad male voice imitations by the narrator made this toooooo long novel even longer. Gawd! Let me make better choices next time!

Historia
This extraordinary, magical novel is the story of Clare, a beautiful art student, and Henry, a librarian, who have known each other since Clare was six and Henry was 36, and were married when Clare was 22 and Henry 30. Impossible but true, because Henry has Chrono-Displacement Disorder: periodically his genetic clock resets and he finds himself misplaced in time, pulled to moments of emotional gravity in his past, present, and future.

Ehhhhh...
Revisado: 06-12-05
I loved the narrator's voices. An interesting twist on the time travel theme. However, I have to say that, as most women would, the use of the "c" word for female genitalia is simply disgusting. I agree with another reviewer that this author's gender is suspect. Women hate that word. Otherwise, it's a good tale, told well.

While in Paris on business, Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon receives an urgent late-night phone call. The elderly curator of the Louvre has been murdered inside the museum, a baffling cipher found near the body. Not a bad piece of FICTION
Revisado: 05-29-04
Well written, narrated, researched. Nothing to complain about there. However, my gripe is with the whirl of nonsense that is ever increasing surrounding this novel. People, people, people! This is fiction. My fellow Christians are in a tizzy over the assertions that Christ was married (remember all that 80s New Age junk? IT'S BACK!!!). My fellow art historians (I hold an M.A. in art history) have picked, picked, picked the book to death. IT'S A NOVEL! Get a grip. It really is a good "read". The last "page" was a let down, but we can't have everything, now can we?
