Though my mother was not a stripper, I was raised in a very similar way to Minka and to say her words felt near like my truth is an understatement. I thought I was alone in the guilt, the shame, the variety of emotions that come from a traumatic childhood. I enjoyed every minute of this book, where often it felt like reading my own diary. Thank you to Minka for her honesty. Highly recommend.
