To begin with Ibelieved it was going to be too teenagery, but it morphed into a dark story that ended with light.

Great Setting; Great Storyline
Revisado: 10-04-22
Rich Blood was intriguing. It was fast-paced and had some unexpected twists and turns. I loved Guntersville, Alabama, as the setting, for I live not far away; therefore, I recognized the places mentioned.
Robert Bailey has improved his writing skills greatly. He now builds believable characters - both good and evil - without the use of so much foul language as was used in his earlier books. Kudos to Bailey.

Historia
The year 1996 was the one that changed everything for Maggie Dawes. Sent away at 16 to live with an aunt she barely knew in Ocracoke, a remote village on North Carolina’s Outer Banks, she could think only of the friends and family she left behind...until she met Bryce Trickett, one of the few teenagers on the island. Handsome, genuine, and newly admitted to West Point, Bryce showed her how much there was to love about the wind-swept beach town - and introduced her to photography, a passion that would define the rest of her life. By 2019, Maggie is a renowned travel photographer.

Sad to happy
Revisado: 11-05-21
The Wish is different from some of Nicholas Sparks’ recipes books in that it goes from sadness to a degree of happiness, where others do the opposite. In the beginning, I thought the book was going to be totally depressing. As is life, it has happy moments, as well as sad ones.
Sparks does a masterful job in going from present to past. Often this switching back and forth becomes laborious. Not so with this story.
Although Maggie’s life as a whole wasn’t a happy one, Sparks gave her enough exhilarating moments to make the bad ones almost seem worth it.

Intriguing, captivating story
Revisado: 05-27-21
I’ve been a Grisham fan for many years. His first three bestsellers rank as favorites, with A Time to Kill leading the pack. Later, A Painted House captured my attention because it broke with Grisham’s established style and had a great’ relatable story. Now, he has hit it out of the park ( or maybe a more apt cliche, he dunked this one) with Sooley. This story echoes the chant of many who have found America to truly be the land of opportunity. May it ever be so.
