Historia
The mutiny on HMS Bounty, in the South Pacific on 28 April 1789, is one of history's truly great stories - a tale of human drama, intrigue and adventure of the highest order - and in the hands of Peter FitzSimons it comes to life as never before. Commissioned by the Royal Navy to collect breadfruit plants from Tahiti and take them to the West Indies, the Bounty's crew found themselves in a tropical paradise. Five months later, they did not want to leave.

Historia
Foulgrin, a high-ranking demon, instructs his subordinate on how to deceive and destroy Jordan Fletcher and his family. It's like placing a bugging device in hell's war room, where we overhear our enemies assessing our weaknesses and strategizing attack. Lord Foulgrin's Letters is a Screwtape Letters for our day, equally fascinating yet distinctly different - a dramatic story with earthly characters, setting, and plot.

Well done remake of Screwtape Letters
Revisado: 06-12-23
Well done remake of Screwtape Letters. At first I wasn’t sure I’d like it as CS Lewis already did this. But, like the remake of an old favorite e, it can still be done well and enjoyed.

Historia
Here, in his own words, is the true story of America's wildest flying hero, of his extraordinary heroism, and of his greatest battle of all-the fight to survive. The World War II air war in the Pacific needed tough men like Colonel Pappy Boyington and his Black Sheep Squadron. The legendary Marine Corps officer and his bunch of misfits, outcasts, and daredevils gave a new definition to "hell-raising" - on the ground and in the skies.

Great take of the quintessential fighter pilot
Revisado: 09-25-22
Great take of the quintessential fighter pilot. Are quite a few years after Robin commanded the eighth TFW I was a member of that wing. I had seen the history of the squadron but got a greater appreciation hearing about his time Udan. And not a bad mustache too.

Historia
In 1978, the first group of space shuttle astronauts was introduced to the world - 29 men and six women who would carry NASA through the most tumultuous years of the space shuttle program. Among them was USAF Colonel Mike Mullane, who, in his memoir Riding Rockets, strips the heroic veneer from the astronaut corps and paints them as they are - human.

5 stars all around! Mike Mullane tells his story in a very unassuming and entertaining way. As an F4 WSO, from planet AD (Arrested Development) as Mike describes it, he has the funniest stories. I laughed my way through the book. That is until it got serious. And then he was back to his planet AD self describing how Barbara Bush grabbed his @$$!

Historia
Pino Lella wants nothing to do with the war or the Nazis. He's a normal Italian teenager - obsessed with music, food, and girls - but his days of innocence are numbered. When his family home in Milan is destroyed by Allied bombs, Pino joins an underground railroad helping Jews escape over the Alps, and falls for Anna, a beautiful widow six years his senior. In an attempt to protect him, Pino's parents force him to enlist as a German soldier - a move they think will keep him out of combat.

Good mostly true story of a WWII teenager’s deeds
Revisado: 07-17-21
Overall, a good story and audible performance. According to Pino Lella it’s 80-90% true. In my opinion, it would have been better if it were 100% true. You can tell the author is trying to make it a good story. Given that, it’s still a good read.

Historia
Four days before Christmas in 1943, a badly damaged American bomber struggled to fly over wartime Germany. At its controls was a 21-year-old pilot. Half his crew lay wounded or dead. It was their first mission. Suddenly a sleek, dark shape pulled up on the bomber’s tail - a German Messerschmitt fighter. Worse, the German pilot was an ace, a man able to destroy the American bomber with the squeeze of a trigger.

Great story. Great narrator.
Revisado: 05-22-21
The production was top notch. The narrator has a great voice and uses different voices for the different characters which made it even more entertaining than just the plain story, which is fantastic. I was a flight surgeon with F-16s for almost 27 years and know what fighter pilots are like. These German fighter pilots are just like our guys. I was glad to find out that the overwhelming majority of German fighter pilots were not Nazis. And they were mostly gentlemen trying to do their job. Just like our guys.

A youthful troublemaker, a world-class NCAA miler, a 1936 Olympian, a WWII bombardier: Louis Zamperini had a fuller life than most. But on May 27, 1943, it all changed in an instant when his B-24 crashed into the Pacific Ocean, leaving Louis and two other survivors drifting on a raft for 47 days and 2,000 miles, waiting in vain to be rescued.

Magnificent story. Horrendous Reading.
Revisado: 05-08-21
This is a beautiful story of Louie Zamperini surviving a plane crash, 47 days at sea, years of beatings in a Japanese POW camp and then transformation through Christ into someone who can forgive his tormentors and himself.
This magnificent story is marred by the hundreds, not one or two - hundreds! - of reading errors and misspeaks. The story of an older man is read by a younger woman whose first language is not English. There are so many mispronunciations that I didn’t know if I could get through the book. This choice of reader and the apparent lack of editing makes this a second or third class production at best.
I would recommend reading this book instead of listening to this production.
