I appreciate her story

I really wanted to love this book. I appreciate and honor her for the sacrifices she has made and the battles she has fought. I bought it looking for a laugh and when I giggled during the audible sample, I thought I had found the book I was looking for. Unfortunately, that little giggle was all I got in this book.

Well, you can't complain about a free book but this would not be worth purchasing. There's really no story at all, no explanation to anything. I would not listen to this again and will try to get this out of my library as I only keep books I would read multiple times.

I mean it's kind of a typical It's a Wonderful Life type story. About an hour in I was going to return it. An hour and 10 minutes and I started sniffling. At my desk... in the office... It was touching but then I am the type that starts bawling at Christmas Ford Truck commercials...

The actors really put a lot into this. They made it nice to listen to. I probably would not have stuck through the story if teh actors hadn't been so good.

Nothing special but not the worst book I've heard. No big mystery, no surprises. Narrator wasn't fantasic but it was free with Kindle unlimited. It was a time filler at work so I finished the whole thing.

For me, Anne Rice was the beginning of a long and happy relationship with Audible. I have purchased most of her titles here and what I haven't purchased is waiting in my wish list (500 books and counting!). I listen to these books over and over but unfortunately this is my least favorite book in The Vampire Chronicles.

I almost gave this book four stars because it carries so many of the themes in 14. However, I love Peter Clines writing and 14 remains one of my top all times favorite books so after consideration I realized I really didn't mind. However, before purchasing this title I didn't see any indication this was a continuation of those ideas. No matter, bottom line is if you liked 14 you will like The Fold. Totally worth the credit and I will listen again - and probably several more times beyond that!

This is my first Marianne Williamson book. I will listen to this multiple times. So encouraging, I found myself nodding my head and wanting to shout "Amen!" out loud.

If you could sum up Allie and Bea in three words, what would they be?

Heart warming story

What other book might you compare Allie and Bea to and why?

Anything along the lines of Fried Green Tomatoes, Steel Magnolias, your typical tear jerker, make you giggle, make you feel good story.

Which scene was your favorite?

Glass Beach in CA. I actually looked it up and it's a real place and now I want to go!

If you could take any character from Allie and Bea out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Definitely Bea but we'd have to get drinks after!

I was pleasantly surprised to really like this book. It took about half way through to be 100% that I "really liked" it but it had enough thought put into the plot that it wasn't just another version of the same old story. There are not huge twists or shockers but I don't regret spending my time with Allie and Bea. I will most likely listen to this one again.
