Creepy but very engaging. My kids hate me today because all I could do was listen to this book!
Well done again, Ms. Jewell.

Historia
Abu Nakba―the man responsible for lethal attacks in Washington, D.C., London, and Jerusalem―is finally dead. Marcus Ryker has been tasked with hunting down and destroying what’s left of the terror group Kairos. But before Ryker can mobilize his team of CIA operatives with their new assignment, a disturbing report from Libya suggests all may not be as it seems. The U.S. bombing that should have taken out Nakba’s headquarters now appears to have been a disastrous mistake―and Ryker himself may be responsible.

The performer did a wonderful job reading this book with all the different characters and accents.
Joel C. Rosenberg is my favorite author. I’ve yet to read a book of his that I didn’t enjoy. I can’t wait to read the next one!

Years before the name Alex Murdaugh was splashed across every major media outlet in America, local South Carolina journalist Mandy Matney had an instinct that something wasn’t right in the Lowcountry. The powerful Murdaugh dynasty had dominated rural South Carolina for generations. No one dared to cross them.

More about a reporter than about the case
Revisado: 05-25-24
If I would’ve known going in that, this was a biography about the author, I probably would not have purchased it. It was somewhat interesting learning about all the hoops that Mandy had to jump through and the issues that she faced, but that is not what I was looking for in this book. I felt as though what she sold and what she produced were different things and if I had it to do over again, I would have probably just listened to her podcast instead.

Great story line
Revisado: 04-23-24
This book was very well written. The author clearly did his homework on every aspect of the book. It was a bit slow about a third of the way through, but I’m so glad I stuck with it. I gave it five stars because it met all my expectations in the end. I am now searching for more of Bryan Devore’s books. Well done.

Historia
There's a saying in Barstow, California, a decaying city in the scorching Mojave desert . . . The Interstate here only goes in one direction: Away. But it's the only place where ex-LAPD detective Beth McDade, after a staggering fall from grace, could get another badge . . . and a shot at redemption. Over a century ago, and just a few miles further into the bleak landscape, a desperate stranger ended up in Calico, a struggling mining town, also hoping for a second chance.

Vulgar and Raunchy
Revisado: 03-20-24
I had high hopes for this book. The plot and setting seemed intriguing, but I couldn’t get through three chapters. It was overly vulgar, so much so it was distracting. If that doesn’t bother you, you might take a chance. There was so much, I just couldn’t past it to hear what was actually transpiring in the story.

Beautiful story
Revisado: 01-30-24
I have absolutely loved every book I have ever read by Lynn Austin. This book is no different. She does a fabulous job of making the characters come alive and making you root for each one. The history was spot on and made me interested in parts of WWII I wasn’t previously familiar with. I look forward to more historical fiction written by her in the future.

The creators of this were clearly not a part of the military. It was extremely unrealistic. The performances were great, but the story was lacking.

I couldn’t get through much because the F-word was used about ten times in the first couple minutes. I really was looking forward to listening, but couldn’t get through the cussing and cackling from the host.

Hard to read, glad I finished.
Revisado: 06-07-23
There were numerous times I almost put this book down because of the vulgar, raw nature of the story. I hated the constant use of the “f” word and I felt very uncomfortable with some of the scenes described. Still, I kept reading. Though I will likely not read this author again due to the vulgarity used, I feel like I learned quite a bit from this book - how a victim feels, how one can continuously go back to an abuser. I even felt some compassion for the perpetrator. If you aren’t bothered by raunch and vulgarity, I would recommend this book. It’s a great story.

In 1909, Clementine steps off a train with her new husband, Winston. An angry woman emerges from the crowd to attack, shoving him in the direction of an oncoming train. Just before he stumbles, Clementine grabs him by his suit jacket. This will not be the last time Clementine Churchill will save her husband. Lady Clementine is the ferocious story of the ambitious woman beside Winston Churchill, the story of a partner who did not flinch through the sweeping darkness of war, and who would not surrender either to expectations or to enemies.

Revisado: 04-18-23
I loved this book!! What an interesting take on a curious first lady in Wartime Britain. This gave me so much more insight into Clementine Churchill and her husband, Winston. Thank you, Marie Benedict, for all the research and care you put into this book. I’d love to see more like this.
