I really loved this book!

This book was a nice change of scenery for me. The world building and character development are great.
My only issue (very minor - not enough to remove a star) was in the narrator's performance of the mid-chapter points where we went from following Duncan to William to anyone else. Sometimes it wasn't immediately noticeable when we were switching from one to the other, which led to a bit of confusion for a sentence or two.

Great follow-up to the first book in the series. I love how Melany has grown into her powers and I can't wait to find out what's going on with the *other part* that has grown as well (vague to avoid spoilers). Hades has ulterior motive(s) and I can't puzzle it out yet.
Also, WHAT AN ENDING! Glad the 3rd book is already out so I can get straight into it!

Starts out "clinical", but expands beautifully

Configured starts out "clinical" sounding, both in the text and audiobook, but as we watch Avlyn grow & expand her mind it becomes a story that will suck you in and leave you wanting more! I really liked how the narrator brought this personal growth to life by expanding the emotion in her voice as the book went along.
