Historia
"DAMN THE VALLEY" was a phrase regularly uttered by the men that spent any amount of time in the Arghandab River Valley during the deployment of 2 Fury to Afghanistan in 2009-2010. The valley has claimed bodies from the troops of Alexander the Great, the British Empire, and more recently, the Russian Army. Operating in the valley was like nothing the men could have envisaged, they called it the "meat grinder." It was a deployment that the media didn't talk about, and the government doesn't acknowledge.

hodgepodg of stories.
Revisado: 01-19-25
Not taking anything away from the service provided not the terrible experiences of the soldiers but the audio as a whole felt disjointed and at times filled with details that didn't add very much to the over storyline. it got pretty difficult to listen through as nothing new or insightful was said that hasn't already been covered in similar books. the narrators voice also did not really match the genre. I was disappointed.

I enjoyed the nuggets of wisdom found in the book. I could not, however, connect with the narrator. The voice came across too fake and disingenuous.

I enjoyed the narrator. The plot line was decent but nothing that wasn't done before. Kept my interest long enough to finish the book.

Historia
Patric Gagne realized she made others uncomfortable before she started kindergarten. Something about her caused people to react in a way she didn’t understand. She suspected it was because she didn’t feel things the way other kids did. Emotions like fear, guilt, and empathy eluded her. For the most part, she felt nothing. And she didn’t like the way that “nothing” felt.

pros:
- some transparency
- pithy metaphors and beautiful imagery
Cons
- her voice is absolutely difficult to listen to
- She drones on about childhood crushes. who cares
- she says a lot without saying anything meaningdul
- it reads like a never ending poem with few breaks in between. it's over bearing.
- she over does the writing. Her poetic language and descriptions feels like over eating.

Historia
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

When a viral apocalypse kills 97 percent of the people on the planet, the survivors' humanity is hanging by a thread. Amid the leftovers of civilization, ex-Army Ranger Jason Larsen is reminded of the meaning of hope, family, and loyalty by a dog and a young boy who are as alone as he is. The survivors he seems to collect become family, and that is very bad news for those who think they run the apocalypse.

Revisado: 08-02-22
very difficult to follow. Their discussion is not very linear and it leaves gals that do not make sense. This is true for most of their pod casts. I don't know if they are making an argument that all depressions stems from the internal conflict one has. Very weird.
