Let me start by saying, I love everything the Dungy's have put out. They are incredible examples of strength, faith, knowledge, and leadership. This book is among my favorites and had I read it and not listened to it, I would have rated it a 5 overall. I understand the difficulties with voiceover and narrative work, but as a listener, encountering so many of them throughout this book made listening difficult at times.
I highly recommend this book to anyone, but was taken back a bit by the stop and go portions including the errors in recording.

What a story!
Revisado: 08-28-24
This is such a well written book with interesting characters and a great premise. Unfortunately, I felt a bit disappointed in the performance of the narrator. In my opinion, they should have had someone else read the boys' parts. Really good overall, though.

Historia
Everyone from Wakarusa, Indiana, remembers the infamous case of January Jacobs, who was discovered in a ditch hours after her family awoke to find her gone. Margot Davies was six at the time, the same age as January—and they were next-door neighbors. In the twenty years since, Margot has grown up, moved away, and become a big-city journalist. But she’s always been haunted by the feeling that it could’ve been her. And the worst part is, January’s killer has never been brought to justice.

Meh

There was potential, but it became too cloudy throughout. I love the CJ podcast and was so excited for Ashley Flowers' debut novel. The story bounced around in what seemed to be attempts to confuse the reader and instead of that being done in an intriguing fashion, it literally became confusing.

Historia
Stephen King returns to the characters and territory of one of his most popular novels ever, The Shining, in this instantly riveting novel about the now middle-aged Dan Torrance (the boy protagonist of The Shining) and the very special 12-year-old girl he must save from a tribe of murderous paranormals. This is an epic war between good and evil, a gory, glorious story that will thrill the millions of hyper-devoted fans of The Shining and wildly satisfy anyone new to the territory of this icon in the King canon.

Wow!
Revisado: 09-15-22
I really enjoyed this story. Stephen King provided an excellent look into Doc's life and how it went after The Shining. The characters, scenery, and dialogue were all represented greatly by King's work as well as the reader. Just a phenomenal tale that I felt connected to the whole way through
