Historia
Power is changing. Private corner offices and management by decree are out, as is unquestioned trust in the government and media. These former pillars of traditional power have been replaced by networks of informed citizens who collectively wield more power over their personal lives, employers, and worlds than ever before. So how do you navigate this new landscape and come out on top? Adam Grant, Wharton organizational psychologist, went to the World Economic Forum in Davos, the epicenter of power, and sat down with thought leaders from around the world, to find out.

The only issue was for me the volume of music during tips. The music itself was great, but it interferred with the tips and they were harder to hear.

Historia
After decades of research, world-renowned Stanford University psychologist Carol S. Dweck discovered a simple but groundbreaking idea: the power of mindset. In this brilliant book, she describes how success in school, work, sports, the arts, and almost every area of human endeavor can be dramatically influenced by how we think about our talents and abilities. In this edition, Dweck offers new insights into her now famous and broadly embraced concept. She introduces a phenomenon she calls false growth mindset and guides people toward adopting a deeper, truer growth mindset.

Not quite what I'd expected
Revisado: 07-01-19
The first two and the last two chapters were useful. All other chapters with examples of people who had succeeded thanks to their growth mindset and people who had failed because of their fixed mindset were less useful. In fact, I fast fowarded through a couple of such chapters as they were repetitive in the point they were trying to make: the only explanation of success/failure was the difference of mindset.

Helpful but could be much shorter
Revisado: 04-17-19
The book offers good advice, but could be much shorter in my view. The seven questions could be simply presented with a little bit of explanation.

Waste of time
Revisado: 03-24-19
My review is based on less than half of the book. I struggled finishing it. The ideas are common knowledge/sense, the book does not offer practical ideas for addressing wotkplace problems, but just goes on and on about how important it is to address them. The content might be good for students though as an intro to understanding organizations.

Historia
In his landmark best seller The Tipping Point, Malcolm Gladwell redefined how we understand the world around us. Now, in Blink, he revolutionizes the way we understand the world within. Blink is a book about how we think without thinking, about choices that seem to be made in an instant, in the blink of an eye, that actually aren't as simple as they seem. Why are some people brilliant decision makers, while others are consistently inept?

Not sure
Revisado: 11-17-18
The content is not bad, the author does provide useful insights and advice. However, 'usable' information starts only in chapter 4 or 5. The first ones talk about the greatness of the author, about stories which have way too much detail and are a waste of time. I am glad I eventually made it through these first chapters, but i was seriously considering to quit several times.
The narrator's voice is fine apart from when he tried to speak in a special or low voice...which felt me willing to switch to smth else.

Thank you for this book!
Revisado: 11-17-18
Frankly speaking, I was reluctant to start this book, because I was thinking to myself that 'I already know a lot about feedback and I already take feedback well... well as long as it is right, of course'. ... I was wrong! With this book, I have learned so much about the feedback, its types, and how we receive it. I have reconsidered what makes feedback right or wrong, and how seemingly wrong feedback may uncover our blind spots. The advice provided in this book also applies to giving feedback.
The voices of both authours were absolutely fine to me.
Most importantly, there's NO wasted time with general statements or description of how great the authors are. I found this book to be extremely dense in what you can actually apply in life. If I could, I would give a 6-star rating.
