If they become crazy then it’s because we started that way!

When assembling the United States of America the founding fathers actually put some thought into it set down guidelines for all good things for all the people for life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
If they would do that today we would not have some of the problems we are having.
Whatever it’s a 20 minute read it’s a little tiny Bible Recent social behavior quote in front of people “I enjoyed the red very much I am glad it is in my library and I will read it over and over and share it with friends. I recommend.

A favorite old treasure
Revisado: 05-29-21
My daughter loved this book as a child and I did not - the colors struck me as sort of "nuts and bolts" for a poem about sleepytime. I worked with children and was immersed in it and yet, the charm of "Goodnight Moon" found me in time. And I realized it could be mine - and it remains like that for many, over 40 years later, as classic. Thank you!

A special story very well told
Revisado: 02-13-21
Three brothers – patriots, proud, defending America in the Middle East And the youngest the only survivor left to tell the story and very proud to do it for for his big brothers. I think every American should read the story as a reminder of what is involved in the life and death demanded in this world have ridiculous expectations
Every day we enjoy and take for granted elements in the quality of our lives that come to us as a direct benefit of their sacrifice, and yet we fail to understand sacrifice. After completing the story I marveled and prayed that a healthy appreciation of the three Wise men would inspire our readers to better citizenship at the very least. Caring is what it is all about and yet most of us feel unable to be active and are caring for our own quality of life in America, or for some other reason we all fail to do even a little part of things every day. But this book it’s a nice eye-opener that lovingly empowers us to do a little bit better without feeling chastised about it. To restore a good understanding of the importance of God and country .
I am glad I got an audible format. It is a good story and a nice one to listen to. A fine companion.
Thank you very much, three Wise men and their families!

Historia
The tranquility of a luxury cruise along the Nile was shattered by the discovery that Linnet Ridgeway had been shot through the head. She was young, stylish, and beautiful. A girl who had everything . . . until she lost her life. Hercule Poirot recalled an earlier outburst by a fellow passenger: “I’d like to put my dear little pistol against her head and just press the trigger.” Yet under the searing heat of the Egyptian sun, nothing is ever quite what it seems.

A quality performance of a quality story
Revisado: 10-24-20
Happy 100th anniversary of Agatha Christie stories and heroes! “Death on the Nile” is one of the most famous - written at the time of the Egyptian Archaeological discoveries and so popular with the first readers of the story.
The plot wastes no time getting “interesting” and descriptions of the “mode” - glamour, money, personalities. Film was new but everyone knew it would be made into a play and/or filmed - and filmed - and filmed. And every one of the productions has been a fine success.
But this year, getting back to the books that began it all is more exciting sometimes. The descriptions make the listening really pay attention and so the details can be more powerful.
The author spells it out, desiring clarity in the telling.
I enjoyed it very much and when I had to stop and go something else, I did but looked forward to returning to the reading.
So good. Thank you Agatha Christie and Kenneth Branagh and Audible. I will enjoy this story again and share it with others.

Halloween maybe - danger to infant story
Revisado: 07-11-20
The haunted house hosts a spirit that endangers the infant and its parents. The reading pulls you into it but I was relieved that it was just short story - which is good, I guess, if the point to reading a ghost story is to be spooked and glad to be done with it.

The New American Standard Bible is one of the most accurate translations of the Scriptures. In the New Testament gospels you will discover the virgin birth, ministry, crucifixion, and bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ written from four different yet perfectly harmonized vantage points. Historical and life-altering Biblical truths are proclaimed from the birth of the early church to the spread of the Gospel through Paul, Peter, John, and others in the epistles.

The film does it better than the book
Revisado: 03-16-17
Where does Jewels rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Moderate - I loved the tv movie "Jewels" so I got the book and dvd. The movie is better. The story is what it is , and that is my complaint: somehow, either the narrative, itself, or the reading of it missed the importance of the story - its place in history, sociology and most of all it failed to communicate the romance - the love, the devotion, the passion, the focus to make a stellar experience of life.
What did you like best about this story?
The romance between Sarah and William - yes. It was popular for titled-landed-but-declining old European families to marry American monied folk, who longed for land and titles. It worked for all involved. Their true love was a wonderful "extra" and carried them when all else failed. The rebirth of a dynasty of Jewelers to the Queen and all the life attached to it is quite a story.
Have you listened to any of Tim Curry’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
no - I will make note next time - but somehow I did not get the excitement and passion I needed to hear in telling this story. He did not seem to be all that interested.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I did .
Any additional comments?
Not really - I recommend the finally-available dvd.
