Historia
This "who's who" audio guide to the gods, goddesses, and other important figures of Norse mythology was commissioned by Helgi, who, after more than a millennium as manager of Hotel Valhalla, became fed up with answering the same questions from newly deceased heroes at check-in. The profiles provide essential stats, interviews, and personal reflections so you can identify the gods and avoid those awkward introductions. Handy facts about other beings round out this go-to audiobook.

Great background to the Norse Myths; bad narration

Flat narration
Revisado: 02-20-24
I'm sorry to say that this book suffers in comparison to the other Audible performances of Rick Riordan's books. The others I've listened to had a narrator with great comedic timing and hilarious character voices. This one felt like the narrator was reciting a recipe book. He has a very nice voice, but the energy was not there. I don't recommend this as an audible book.

Historia
Who cut off Medusa's head? Who was raised by a she-bear? Who tamed Pegasus? And whatever happened to that Golden Fleece? It takes a demigod to know the answers, and Percy Jackson can fill you in on all the daring deeds of Perseus, Atalanta, Bellerophon, and the rest of the major Greek heroes.

Intro to Greek Heroes with excellent narration
Revisado: 02-20-24
Great background reading for older kids who enjoy Rick Riordan's mythology-based novels. Greek Mythology is difficult to render "family friendly" but Rick Riordan successfully walks the line between being true to the 2500 year old subject material and considerate of modern adolescent sensibilities. It is enjoyable for adults as well.
Jesse Bernstein's performance is stellar as always. Love his character voices and comedic timing.

Historia
"A publisher in New York asked me to write down what I know about the Greek gods, and I was like, 'Can we do this anonymously?' Because I don't need the Olympians mad at me again. But if it helps you to know your Greek gods, and survive an encounter with them if they ever show up in your face, then I guess writing all this down will be my good deed for the week." So begins Percy Jackson's Greek Gods, in which the son of Poseidon adds his own magic - and sarcastic asides - to the classics.

Narrator's character voices are excellent!
Revisado: 02-20-24
Rick Riordan wrote an excellent introduction to Greek Gods for older kids who enjoy his novels.
Narrator Jesse Bernstein brings it to life with his excellent performance, including hilarious character voices.
Jesse Bernstein should narrate all of Rick Riordan's books.
This book is about Greek Gods. There is a companion book on Greek Heroes that is also worth a listen.
