Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Well done!
Revisado: 01-30-23
I loved listening to this book. It was very well written and Harry reading it makes it even more enjoyable. It seems pretty honest and forthcoming, and I think he managed to explain things while remaining respectful.

Historia
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

Impressive, Funny, Thoughtful, Insightful, & More
Revisado: 06-17-20
I only knew Rob Lowe from vague, sensationalist stories in the background of my youth. Born in ‘82, I was largely unaware of him in general. Even after enjoying the Parks and Rec series, I never knew much except that at some point in his life, he was a “Hollywood Bad Boy” I bought this book based on it’s reviews and my enjoyment of Parks and Recreation. It did NOT disappoint! His hard earned wisdom is shown throughout the book without being pushy. The stories he tells are wild. I would not have believed them all, except that there is so much sincerity and honesty throughout the book. I love how he weaves all the stories together. His impersonations are pretty entertaining as well. I loved hearing how he and his wife met and their story. Never having met her, his words inspires the reader to respect and admire her. This may have been my favorite audio book yet. You don’t even need to know much about him to thoroughly enjoy this book. We all owe Mike Meyers a thank you for putting this idea into Lowe’s head!

What’s in a name? A lot. The name Tinaca, for example, has been passed down in the Jones family for generations of women. In fact, the Joneses name a Tinaca every other generation, to let the name breathe a little. To let each Tinaca shine. And shine is exactly what Tinaca Jones intends to do.

Love Retta, but not this book
Revisado: 04-26-20
Retta kills it, as she does in everything she does. Her skills are why I finished the story. I did not enjoy the story, though.

Historia
In 1960, Ishmael Reed, then an aspiring young writer, interviewed Malcolm X for a local radio station in Buffalo, and the encounter cost Reed his job and changed his life. In Malcolm and Me, Reed, the author of such classic novels as Mumbo Jumbo and the winner of a MacArthur “Genius” Fellowship, reveals a side of Malcolm X the public has never seen before, and explores how the civil rights firebrand influenced his own views on working and living and speaking out, and left a mark on generations of artists and activists.

Title doesn't make sense.
Revisado: 02-10-20
The title doesn't make sense to me. not much of this was actually about Malcolm X. I'm interested in Black history, so I was curious about this book. This book would be great as a family history book. Like something to leave his children and grandchildren. It didn't quite give me what I was looking for. I do appreciate the author's thoughtfulness as well as his mentioning of Malcom X's change of heart. Most people never hear about his views in later years.

I enjoyed the insight that this book has to offer. I didn't as much enjoy some of the amount of meditations. Overall, the book was helpful.
