Historia
Is good character something that can be taught? In 430 BCE, Socrates set out to teach the vain, power-seeking Athenian statesman Alcibiades how to be a good person—and failed spectacularly. Alcibiades went on to beguile his city into a hopeless war with Syracuse, and all of Athens paid the price. In The Quest for Character, philosophy professor Massimo Pigliucci tells this famous story and asks what we can learn from it.

Disappointing
Revisado: 12-22-23
This book uses long winded ancient historical references, and warped current events (including debunked COVID “scamdemic” propaganda) to explain how character traits from Stoicism can be applied to live a more productive life. Next time, just stick to the philosophy and leave out the political bias and mass psychological manipulation.

Historia
In Breakfast with Seneca, philosopher David Fideler mines Seneca's classic works in a series of focused chapters, clearly explaining Seneca's ideas without oversimplifying them. Best enjoyed as a daily ritual, like an energizing cup of coffee, Seneca's wisdom provides us with a steady stream of time-tested advice about the human condition - which, as it turns out, hasn't changed much over the past 2,000 years.

Great audiobook
Revisado: 10-29-23
Great audiobook on the teachings of Seneca, whose Stoic philosophy is as relevant today, in a world of fake pandemics & false flags, as it was 2,000+ years ago during the tyrannical Roman Empire.
