Historia
Having evolved to C-grade successfully, Jake is ready to enter the most well-known World Wonder in the entire multiverse to get some sweet levels under his belt. However, Nevermore is far more than just an immense dungeon to power up in. It’s a competition where newly evolved C-grades compete on Leaderboards to prove themselves in front of the entire multiverse. Geniuses from every universe and faction appear, all of them vying for the top spot and to prove themselves the very best, like no one ever was.

Still fantastic
Revisado: 11-14-24
Others have complained about the themes that Zogarth has used in this book such as Nevermore. I am one who thinks that Zogarth has the right to write whatever he wants, since he has stated he writes for himself. We are just along for the ride. And in my opinion it is a fantastic ride. I personally like that this book has slightly changed the progression speed of the main characters, but in my opinion does so in a way that doesn’t ruin anything. I really like getting the broad strokes of information needed while also getting hyper focused progression story elements. I think Zogarth is excellent at setting up further elaborate plot points for the future while maintaining what is special in the now while it is being set up. I find myself sad that I don’t have another book to gulp down greedily. I hope this series never ends, because to me it is that good.

Historia
It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

I disagree with a particular review
Revisado: 09-02-24
If you want to skip my rant, I recommend this book to anyone who likes Litrpg books.
A particular review said the world building was good, but had a hard time with Jason’s quips and actions. Stating that they didn’t think they made sense and curbed the suspension of disbelief a little too much. I disagree. Jason is from another world, one where the rules aren’t quite the same, and the exploitation is different. Our world is nothing but exploitation, when vying for power. Power starts off with connections and cleverness. That is here too, however, real powers diminish a lot of the need to be more politically clever and the higher ups are a bit more sloppy because of it. Which provides Jason opportunities you may not see in our world, because people play their hands more carefully. With real power you don’t have to as much, you just fall in line with the pecking order. Questions don’t get asked as much, even so far as the world not understanding the basics of gravity, instead they think it is some magical construct too large to understand since it is on a planetary level. So they are too reliant on magic because they can be. So many of the rash things Jason does work out. Not to mention he isn’t popular with everyone, and frequently does annoy people. He is using earth logic and tactics in this new world, which in some ways are superior since it is so different to anything the locals are used to. The author demonstrates several times how Jason thinks ahead, and when he blunders he learns from it, which I think shows thought for the actions Jason takes, and the growth he gains. The specific comment about “he slept with my wife” and how that was laughable, I don’t agree. I have interpreted the review thusly, it wasn’t worded quite like that. People don’t sling comments like Jason’s around in this world unless they are in powerful families. And if you are below them you don’t challenge, for fear of severe consequences. So when Jason quickly throws this guy under the bus, the lady he has rapport with believes him, and the guy he is accusing is taken off guard and fumbles. In this world it is believable. Plus, nobody in our world can monologue without getting interrupted, and so an author has to give some grace to their own writing so that the awkwardness of real life stays out of the story, so it doesn’t muddy it all up for the reader or listener. Anyway, this is a rant. I wholeheartedly recommend this book.

A burgeoning Power. Dormant followers. Ancient forces. Forgotten Allies. And Lurking Enemies. Will they clash? And when they do, will the Wolf emerge triumphant? Michael has come far in the Game since his somewhat-ignominious entry through Erebus’ dungeon. Now, a force to be reckoned with, he is more than a mere player and someone the Powers would do well to fear… But as Michael’s power has grown, so too has his Pack.

Best so far
Revisado: 08-27-24
It was all great. The only thing that got on my nerves was the gross use of the word “scant.” I am not a fan of the word. Each book has done this though. I just decided to say something this time. Simple language is fine, but overused words that aren’t as common aren’t wise in my opinion. The story is good enough for me to forget about all that though. The story is coming into itself nicely now.

Pretty well perfect
Revisado: 03-22-24
Performance is top notch. And the Author does really well at weaving nonsense together in a way that makes sense after the pieces overlap. Pretty amazing how he can take a mundane idea and turn it on its head to become a very memorable part of the story. He does it all the time. Pretty impressive.

The apocalypse will be televised! You know what’s worse than breaking up with your girlfriend? Being stuck with her prize-winning show cat. And you know what’s worse than that? An alien invasion, the destruction of all man-made structures on Earth, and the systematic exploitation of all the survivors for a sadistic intergalactic game show. That’s what. Join Coast Guard vet Carl and his ex-girlfriend’s cat, Princess Donut, as they try to survive the end of the world—or just get to the next level—in a video game–like, trap-filled fantasy dungeon.

Fantastic

I really like the directions this book takes. It manages to be predictable yet unpredictable at the same time. It’s like an edgy dad joke, one that lands about 75% of the audience, and then that 75% mocks the 25% and that 25% takes it quite personally and ends up storming out while everybody else points and laughs with belly aching vigor.

Historia
A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sadistic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible. In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth - from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds - collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground. The buildings and all the people inside have all been atomized and transformed into the dungeon: an 18-level labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and loot.
