Historia
For Sierra Jones, Sullivan's Crossing is meant to be a brief stopover. She's put her troubled past behind her, but the path forward isn't yet clear. A visit with her brother, Cal, and his new bride, Maggie, seems to be the best option to help her get back on her feet. Not wanting to burden or depend on anyone, Sierra is surprised to find the Crossing offers so much more than a place to rest her head. Cal and Maggie welcome her into their lives, and she quickly finds herself bonding with Sully, the campground owner.

Somewhat Disappointed…
Revisado: 09-23-22
I don’t understand why the author included the segment about Tom and Lolly(?) as it pretty much duplicated the basic relationship of Sierra and Conrad. Totally unnecessary and should not have been in this book. I also don’t understand the inclusion of the woman Sierra met at the AA meeting (I can’t remember her name). No point to it at all.
I really enjoyed the entire story about Sierra and Conrad. I appreciate a good story but I just cannot stand when it includes unnecessary writing. Without these things this audiobook would have received 5 stars from me.

Historia
As a sixteen-year-old, Tessa Cartwright was found in a Texas field, barely alive amid a scattering of bones, with only fragments of memory as to how she got there. Ever since, the press has pursued her as the lone surviving “Black-Eyed Susan”, the nickname given to the murder victims because of the yellow carpet of wildflowers that flourished above their shared grave. Tessa’s testimony about those tragic hours put a man on death row.

Why Only a “3” Rating…
Revisado: 09-17-22
I just could not rate this book higher than a “3” because it had too many sections that were simply frustrating to read. The basic story was great but there were entirely too many unnecessary words, descriptions and confusing passages that if left out, would have made this book a “5” in my opinion.

Historia
Everywhere Katie Brenner looks, someone else is living the life she longs for, particularly her boss, Demeter Farlowe. Demeter is brilliant and creative, lives with her perfect family in a posh townhouse, and wears the coolest clothes. Katie’s life, meanwhile, is a daily struggle—from her dismal rental to her oddball flatmates to the tense office politics she’s trying to negotiate. No wonder Katie takes refuge in not-quite-true Instagram posts, especially as she's desperate to make her dad proud.

Loved It!
Revisado: 03-27-22
This was such a great audiobook — especially narrated by Will himself. I don’t remember the last time I read (or listened to) a book that I didn’t want to end. Such an honest and revealing look into the life of someone I’ve respected and admired for years.
To Will: Thank you for sharing your story.

Truly Enjoyable Audiobook
Revisado: 02-08-19
It was so refreshing to enjoy a romance story that didn’t include a crazy period where some huge misunderstanding happens that causes one of the lovers to break up with the other. I really enjoyed this audiobook.

He spent his first three years on Death Row at Holman State Prison in despairing silence.

SO GLAD I BOUGHT THIS AUDIOBOOK!
Revisado: 11-12-18
Even though I knew Mr. Hinton would finally be released after 30 years on death row for crimes he did not commit, I couldn’t stop my tears as the narrator described the day he was released. Such a tragedy!

A big celebration is in the works, but Allan really isn't interested (and he'd like a bit more control over his vodka consumption). So he decides to escape. He climbs out the window in his slippers and embarks on a hilarious and entirely unexpected journey, involving, among other surprises, a suitcase stuffed with cash.

THE 100-YEAR-OLD MAN........
Revisado: 04-13-17
I typically complete any book I start but I gave up on this one. I really tried to keep listening but by the middle of chapter 13, I just couldn't continue. I found it totally boring and difficult to keep my focus on what was being read. The narrator was not the problem — he is actually pretty good. The story, however, is not. It's Iike a bad version of a cross between Forrest Gump and A Man Called Ove — two stories that I loved. I realize this audiobook has received many good reviews so I guess it just isn't my cup of tea. I still attempted to give it a decent rating.

THE DISTANT HOURS
Revisado: 11-17-16
What an epic story! It covered so much of the lives of each character. It is about a mystery, an old castle, 3 sisters, the people in their lives.... It's about love, jealousy, secrets and a book titled 'The Mud Man'.
It took me some time to finish reading it; however, that in part, was due to my knack for reading several books at a time. As I got closer to the end, closer to discovering the truth behind the secrets that had remained hidden for so many years, I just could not stop reading it.
I truly admire the author, Kate Morton, for having the talent to imagine the engrossing storyline and captivating characters, and then to put them into writing a great book like this. Although this is a fictional story, Ms. Morton clearly investigated many historical sources to ensure that important elements of the book were factual. Like I said, what an epic story! I definitely recommend this book to others and I plan to read other books by this incredibly talented author.
As for the narrator, Caroline Lee......an amazing job as usual! Ms. Lee is definitely my favorite narrator.
