Historia
I dig. It's what I do. I'll literally use a shovel to answer a question. Some answers, though, have been buried too deep for too long. But I'll find those, too. And I know where to dig - the Blackwood Estate on the edge of the Mississippi Delta. Garrett Blackwood is the only thing standing between me and the truth. A broken man - one with desires that dance in the darkest part of my soul - he's either my savior or my enemy. I'll dig until I find all his secrets. Then I'll run so he never finds mine. The only problem? He likes it when I run.

Full of suspense, twists & turns, and steam!
Revisado: 11-07-19
While trying to get back into audio for a long drive I had, I discovered Blackwood by Celia Aaron in my Audible library. I'm not 100% sure how it got there, but I'm glad it did.
I'm usually super picky with audio, but Erin Mallon and Lance Greenfield didn't do too shabby on this one.
Now the story, I was hooked from the first minute. I NEEDED to know what was going to happen next and I couldn't wait to get in my car to listen to more.
The story was full of suspense, twists & turns, and steam to appease everyone.
Super pumped to check out more of Aaron's audio versions!

Nothing good ever comes from drinking a box of wine alone. So when I decided to entertain my drunken self by setting up some hand-me-down podcasting equipment and reading the steamy parts from romance novels, I never thought anyone would actually listen. The fact that I admitted my huge crush on my sexy next door neighbor made the whole thing even more mortifying. But sometimes life surprises you, and that’s how my podcast, Heidi’s Discount Erotica, was born. Now I, Heidi Larsen, a sweet former kindergarten teacher in Waconia, Minnesota, lead a scandalous double life.

Must Listen Story!
Revisado: 11-07-19
My commute is long. An hour one way long. And I drive it at the very least, four times a week. Because of this, I can't tell you how many times I have tried to get into audiobooks. It's always been so hard for me and I am so picky.
This book didn't make me regret my choice one little bit. I absolutely loved this book.
I laughed out loud. I am sure people thought I was crazy laughing to myself in the car. It was absolutely hilarious.
I can't even begin to explain how much I loved this book and why, I'm just going to say that you should listen to it and I HIGHLY recommend you do actually listen to it, because Andi Arndt blows it away with her narration.

Historia
Some marriages last a week, a month, or a year. Others last a lifetime. Mine ends on my wedding night, 10 hours after the exchange of rings. Our marriage vows shatter when Dustin Cardwell, the man I saved myself for, looks me in the eye and tells me I failed between the sheets. Our marriage ends before the ink dries, before the scent of my bouquet fades, before the candles in our honeymoon suite burn out. Three months later, I'm divorced and working as a massage therapist on the LaClaire Cruise Ship, headed for the Caribbean.

Great little romance!
Revisado: 10-03-17
Omg! This book started off by making me cuss the male species and the atrocity that is which humans at time. I was furious and my heart went out to the female character. I know, I know, it is fictional, but who doesn't get emotionally involved in the books they read?
Thankfully, it got better. I really liked this book! It gave the good feelings that all women need. It's okay to be yourself, to find your own skin, and to love life and live it to the fullest. And that some men are just douches. haha.
The narration was also great on this one!

Holy Angst and Murders, Batman!
Revisado: 10-03-17
Holy angst and murders, batman!! This book was intense! It was suspenseful and it was holy wow! I could not get enough of this book and I didn't want to quit reading until I knew what was going on. I don't read a lot of stories like this anymore, so it was a nice change of pace.
There were a few times I thought we could be moving faster, but not enough I wanted to quit. I had different theories all through out the story and they kept changing. Interesting read for sure!
Narration was perfect, as well! I could tell the characters apart and it brought the story to life. Sometimes a little too much to life and I was creeped out. haha. Great job though.

This was a unique story. It was pretty good, I cannot deny that. It just did not move as fast as I had expected, but that does not mean others of this variety do not.
The narrator did a great job too and anyone looking for a zombie-ish read- this is great! http://amzn.to/2xTnE9u

Fantastic Novella!
Revisado: 10-03-17
I am not normally one that enjoys end of the world or zombie type of stories, but I really liked this one! Maybe it's because of the narrator, but the author's story is so unique. I do wish I would have realized that this was a novella that comes after the first books, but I still enjoyed it.
It has lots of angst. And of course, zombies. I also found myself wishing for different things to happen with the plot. I look forward to more of this series to see if any of that happens.
This book sis great for any one who loves or doesn't love zombies.
Audible version: Julia Whelen did an amazing job! This is probably only the second audio book I have listened to and enjoyed the narrator 100%. Fantastic job bringing the story to life!

The Nolan brothers are strong and protective - responsible oldest brother Mitchell, fun-loving Reid, and tender-hearted Finn - and I was wildly attracted to each of them, the moment I met them. But I know they're strictly off limits. This is a novel about loss, hope, and desire, featuring three strong, gorgeous brothers. Things reach a climax with hot MFMM scenes that are all about pleasing the woman. Happily ever after, guaranteed.

Unique and Sexy
Revisado: 10-02-17
This book was interesting, to say the least. It was exactly what I had expected, but at the same time, it was nothing like I had expected. I know that doesn't make sense really, but I am not sure how else to adequately describe this one.
I can tell you it verges on the more taboo side, but nothing crazy or full taboo. It is unique and I have never read anything like it before. Oh, and it is HOT! Like, crazy sexy and that is a fact.
When it comes to the audio version, Meghan Kelly narrated and did a great job. I could tell the difference between all of the characters 98% of the time and she really made the story come to life.
If you love sexy brothers and a crazy story, then this is perfect for you!

Angsty Friendships
Revisado: 08-24-17
I recently decided I should try audio books. Now, normally I HATE listening to people read and can't focus, but I have an hour commute. Now, that is not a round trip commute, it is one way. I drive an hour one way to school and an hour to get back home. Then when I work or do my internship, I drive another hour one way and then add another hour coming back home. That is a lot of wasted reading time!
Playing Fate, was my first real audio book I have ever listened to front to back. I won't lie I have been mulling for a couple of days about my review and with all honesty I give it a 3.5 leaning more to a 4.
The story: This story really pulled me in. I loved the secrets involved and how you kept discovering more and more people have more secrets and you want to keep reading and reading. I loved the dynamics between the characters and their relationship. Nothing makes me love a story more than the love you feel between all of the characters. That was my favorite part of this story as well. I also loved the way the characters were real. It wasn't always rainbows and butterflies. That is real life.
The only part of this book that was hard for me was that I felt lost more than once. I hit the back button a couple of times to make sure I didn't miss something. The story seemed to be in one place and then jumped to another without any indication. Although annoying, it did not stop me from wanting to continue the story.
Oh yeah, it was also super hot! ;)
Audio: Now, I wasn't sure what to expect on this side of the story, but was pleasantly surprised. I was entertained and could easily pay attention. Logan McAllister did a very good job, but I believe a female partner would've made it so much more enthralling. Can't blame Mr. McAllister for not being able to drop his voice down super womanly so much. ;)
All in all I was pleasantly surprised by this audio book and glad that I am diving into the audio world!

Historia
Nico Medina's world is 11 miles away from mine. During the day, it's a place where doors are open - where homes are lived in, and neighbors love. But when the sun sets, it becomes a place where young boys are afraid, where eyes watch from idling cars that hide in the shadows and wicked smoke flows from pipes. West End is the kind of place that people survive. It buries them - one at a time, one way or another. And when Nico was a little boy, his mom always told him to run.

New Favorite!
Revisado: 08-24-17
The Hard Count, broke me in the most beautiful way. You know that feeling you get while reading an amazing scene or finishing an unforgettable movie? The one that almost seems like butterflies in your stomach. It's a type of giddiness that you wish would never go away. I had that feeling for more of this book than not and can still feel it. Yes, I finished this book about five hours ago, but can still feel that feeling! It is amazing.
Now, I generally don't have a favorite book. When people ask me to pick a favorite, I look at them dumbfounded. How in the world could I possibly pick just one amazing book when I have read so many?! Well, now I have two books and this one is my number one pick.
I just cannot begin to describe the way this book made me feel. I laughed, I was angry, I was confused, I cried, I smiled, I felt so many things throughout the course of this book.
Can I tell you what sealed the deal of how amazing this book was for me? I finished this book while walking to my first class of the semester this morning and was in awe. I could connect with so many parts and it gave me that giddiness feeling that I loved so much. I didn't really think about it in class, but as soon as I got out it was on my mind. I reread the last chapter and sighed in total contentment of finishing such an amazing book. But then, then as I was pulling into the parking lot of the mall to quickly grab my son some shin guards between classes, I started crying. And not just some tears, I was full on sobbing. Sobbing for me, sobbing for what Ginger Scott felt writing this book, sobbing for the characters, the readers, and anyone and everyone that can connect with this story.
That's how I knew this was a book I would never forget and would encourage every single person I know to read.
It broke me. It broke me hard, but it couldn't have been done in a better way. This is the type of book that makes you a better person for reading it. <3
Audio: I LOVED the audio for this book! I'm not sure it could have been done better! You could hear the emotions in the narrator's voice. You could feel the thoughts in the characters head. You could feel the story! This audio has set the bar for all audio books now and it is set high!
