Historia
Years ago, when violent purges plunged Dún Aulin into chaos, Warden Esben Berengar was sent to restore order by any means necessary. He did so with such brutal efficiency he became known throughout Fál as the High Queen’s Monster. All is not forgiven. When the hunt for a mysterious enemy leads Berengar back to Dún Aulin, an old friend’s request thrusts him headfirst into danger. In the Ceremony of the Cursed Blade, the sword used by the Lord of Shadows in his conquest of Fál will change possession, and it’s up to Berengar to keep the blade from falling into the wrong hands.

Warden Berengar does it again!
Revisado: 05-29-20
In this tale of Warden Esben Berengar, he finds himself once again solving a mystery. While presiding over the Ceremony of the Cursed Blade, it is stolen. The Warden and friends, new and old, must recover the Blade and stop the evil surrounding the caper.
If you enjoy The Witcher, swords & sorcery, or fantasy mysteries, this book is highly recommended. The narrator, Matt Addis, is top of the line.

Historia
Being a warden is tough work at the best of times. Keeping the tenuous peace between the five kingdoms of Fál is a difficult business, especially in a land of monsters and magic. Esben Berengar, the realm’s most feared warden, relies on his wits and his axe to deal with unscrupulous rulers, bloodthirsty outlaws, and the occasional witch. When the king of Munster is murdered, Berengar is called upon to investigate. Many had cause to want the king dead, and treachery lurks behind every corner.

An Great Sequel
Revisado: 11-06-19
The Blood of Kings is a very complex piece of work but at heart a good old-fashioned tale of murder mystery. The gradual disclosure of the big picture, exposing Berengar's part as an inspector in the larger game of kings, kingdoms, and betrayal is artfully done.
I am all in for Kyle Alexander Romines' Warden of Fál series. Both books have been excellent and I am anxiously awaiting the next in the series. Matt Addis is superb as a narrator.

Promising start to a new series!
Revisado: 10-03-19
Remember the Dawn is a fun read with an interesting magical system.
Astrals, the magic users of Macdonald’s world, call the power of their family's star. The Order of the Dawn is opposed to the Astrals and their attempted control. Mysterious deaths of Astrals being investigated by the Order puts the city on edge and betrayals & schemes begin.
My impression of the book is that it reads like a murder mystery set in a fantastical world with a magic system as unique as Sanderson's Mistborn series. I am really looking forward to seeing how much the Starsingers develop. David Pickering is an excellent narrator who brings the characters to life.

Historia
The job sounded simple enough. Rid the village of an ogre and rescue the girl. In return, the local lord would overlook that ugly business in the church. It was nothing he hadn’t dealt with before. That was before he heard the howls coming from the Bog of Móin Alúin. Before he crossed paths with the headless rider. Before he woke to find the witch’s crooked fingers on his face. Now, Berengar must unravel the labyrinth of secrets and lies surrounding the village before a deadly curse claims his life, all while a darker evil looms in the shadows....

What a start to the series!
Revisado: 05-29-19
I really enjoyed this book. Kyle Romines creates a story with well written characters that leap to life, a vivid world, and intriguing mystery. If you enjoy the Witcher game series, you will enjoy this book. Berengar is an interesting hero - disliked for being the one to make the hard choices.
Matt Addis does a fantastic job. This is my first experience with his work and I will absolutely give him another chance.

Historia
For Meredith Gale, ending her life seems like her only choice, and that choice is the reason she’s dangling by her fingertips from a bridge high above the freezing water of the San Francisco Bay. But someone or some thing has other plans for Meredith, and as her fingers slip from the cold steel of the bridge, a disembodied voice asks her a simple question: “Candidate 13: Do you wish to be saved?” Realizing her mistake too late, Meredith screams “Yes!” and instantly finds herself transported to a mysterious island, alongside hundreds of other Candidates like her.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
I really enjoyed this book and plan to purchase the next book in the series when available. The story is very interesting and engaging - but slow to start. Once you get past the first chapter or two, it really picks up. The characters are all unique and well written as is the environment.
The narrator is very good - my personal preference is for male narrators. Mrs. Reading's inflections really give something special to the story.
Great story Mr. Jones!

Disclaimer: I received a free copy of the audio book in exchange for an honest review.
I wish that I was better at writing reviews in order to provide the author the credit he deserves.
I enjoyed the Magitech Chronicles. The start was a little hard as there is a quick learning curve. However, the author does a good job of stepping you into the battles and it's terminology.
In the book you will find descriptive, large scale battles, advanced weaponry and spacecraft, unique characters, and an imaginative universe.
The narrator does a fantastic job. The only reason I took a star off is that sometimes it sounds like the narrator is in a vacuum.
Definitely recommend this book series.
