Set adrift on the tides of fate by the deaths of her parents and left wanting answers, Laura Callaway now lives with her uncle and his disapproving wife in North Cornwall. Great Historical Fiction Novel
Revisado: 12-03-23
I loved the story and history; especially the treasures Laura recovered, restored, and the varied replies to her letters from shipwreck victim families. I was also really impressed with the Cornwall community, they didn’t seem like side characters just moving the plot along at all- the authoress did an amazing job portraying the community and it’s loyalties.

Captivating! Series is a Hidden Gem!
Revisado: 07-05-23
Wow! I found the characters and story captivating. There’s not a focus on world building, but a focus on the “human experience”…the balance was well done. The narrator was perfection and made the characters and the depth of their feelings and struggles come to life. It feels like a fly on the wall perspective to real life… for example I wished Gryphon was able to question/converse with his mother when she refused to leave with him, but that would have made this a different book and experience…you still learn a lot about the culture and characters regardless, so the fly on the wall perspective is refreshing and exciting.

Great Ending to a Great Series!

I wasn’t sure about this series given the popularity of the expeditionary force, but I was presently surprised and enjoyed this series. I loved the characters and was surprised several time during this book! Highly recommend!
