Historia
A month has passed since Oberon and Alessa defeated the Expedition forces sent against them by the Lordships. Their power has grown to the extent that the desert can provide. Ever frustrated by the level system of the world, he decides it's time to take a bigger piece of the pie. Marshaling his new forces, he heads into the continent. Mayhem is marching; may the gods have pity on anyone standing in his way.

Change is hard
Revisado: 12-09-24
It’s difficult when a narrator changes midway through a series. However, what made this listen exceedingly difficult at times is that the new narrator mispronounces the main character’s name throughout the entire book. I’m going to give the next book, a listen, and I hope the narrator gets the character name right this time.

Historia
What’s a witch to do when the coven of moral and ethical standards demands she untwist a curse—but an essential spell component no longer exists? There’s only one choice: go back in time. Caught between self-exile and an Alcatraz cell, Rachel must find an Atlantean mirror to reverse the curse and prove to Cincinnati’s brand-new witch coven that, no, she does not practice illicit magic. Unfortunately, the only mirror of its kind in existence belonged to the insane demon Newt, forcing Rachel to go to the past to bargain with her for it.

Best worst
Revisado: 11-01-24
I love this series and this was, I think, the best worst of the lot. There’s a lot there that I really liked, but the main thrust of the story was not what I was hoping for. Even so, I’m looking forward to where things go from here.

Historia
It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

Grounded anti-fash world building
Revisado: 03-02-24
I like so much about this story. However, it’s not going to be for everyone. If you as a little fashy or think GamerGate was the most important thing to come along, you’re going to miss enjoying the story because the main character’s experience turns on his practical materialism and collective approach to suffering in the story’s world.
If you want a story about how Chad McBro freely chose to bootstrap his grind-mindset into riches and women he secretly resents, this isn’t going to be a story you will enjoy. If you think it’s a practical worldview to be skeptical, driven and compassionate because one’s material conditions define one’s available choices, you’ll enjoy how this character makes his way through seemingly impossible situations with the mirth and snark of a yoda character.
Fun story and hours of entertainment!

Historia
The economy has taken a turn for the worse, and Hank is working as a part-time gravedigger (and more than part-time graverobber). Despite being an expert shoveler, it’s not his top career choice, and he’s anxious to take any "legitimate" criminal work that comes along. In that vein, he finds himself hired by a mysterious woman who wants him to recover an even more mysterious trunk that was stolen from her mansion.

Great story, terrible editor.
Revisado: 09-14-23
The author and the reader are amazing, as always! However, this is not a properly edited file, and there are many, many reader errors that should have been edited out. The lack of proper editing the tracks significantly from this audiobook. It’s really quite disappointing that such a good book and such a good performance was ruined by an editor’s indifference to a finished product.

Historia
Laytham Ballard once protected humanity as part of the Nightwise, a secret order of modern-day mages dedicating to holding hellish supernatural forces at bay, but that was before a string of sadistic ritual murders shook everything he believed in - and sent him down a much darker path. One that has already cost him most of his soul as well as everything he once held dear.

Rich and engaging
Revisado: 09-20-18
I've been a member for a number of years now and this is perhaps the best audiobook I've heard. The performance is absolutely perfect and the storytelling in this book is rich, enveloping, and completely satisfying.

No his best
Revisado: 11-22-17
This feels like this must be one of his first works. The pacing is stutters, doesn't flow, and feels contrived. It's a very different experience than his other (very fun & enjoyable) work.

Great story, horrid edits and narration
Revisado: 07-09-15
The story is good and the narrator's voice is perfect. What isn't so good is the parts where the narrator recorded sections of the book with a nose cold and the MANY very bad edits: sentences cut off, mistakes that weren't edited out where the narrator makes a mistake, shouts "bluh!" and restarts the sentence.
