Following Jane from her childhood as an orphan in Northern England through her experience as a governess at Thornfield Hall, Charlotte Brontë's Gothic classic is an early exploration of women's independence in the mid-19th century and the pervasive societal challenges women had to endure. At Thornfield, Jane meets the complex and mysterious Mr. Rochester, with whom she shares a complicated relationship that ultimately forces her to reconcile the conflicting passions of romantic love and religious piety.

very interesting and eye opening, although I have to agree with another comment that it's very america focused and can't be seen through quite the same lense all around the world, although I'm sure there are many parallels

Historia
One of Jane Austen’s most beloved works, Pride and Prejudice, is vividly brought to life by Academy Award nominee Rosamund Pike ( Gone Girl). In her bright and energetic performance of this British classic, she expertly captures Austen’s signature wit and tone. Her attention to detail, her literary background, and her performance in the 2005 feature film version of the novel provide the perfect foundation from which to convey the story of Elizabeth Bennet, her four sisters, and the inimitable Mr. Darcy.

All the acted voices were so recognizable, it was fun. I've only seen the movie before and it was interesting to hear the whole story by Jane Austen

Brilliant Story & Execution
Revisado: 06-18-22
This was incredible, I'm so glad I listened. I'm sad it's over, to be honest. Beyond glad there was a happy end. Trevor has an incredible life story with so much to learn from. He has a brilliant way of telling the dark parts. He invoked compassion and better understanding for people. He doesn't shy away from important social issues. I think I gained a much better understanding of South Africa.
The performance was thrilling. All the different languages and accents make such a unique experience.
I didn't know Trevor Noah before listening to this, now I feel a deep connection, like I've made a friend that's been teaching me. Thank you Trevor & everyone who worked on this for this masterpiece! (I normally do not write long reviews:D)
