I could not stop listening. I started on a Monday and finished on Friday. I listened on the way to work, then put my headphones on once I got out of my car and listened as I walked into the office. I listened while I worked. I listened while I cooked dinner and even missed out on some of my favorite TV shows, because I could not put this book down, it was that good and kept me on the edge of my seat. I absolutely love Scott Brick as a narrator he has a wonderful voice. DeMille's descriptions of torture are not for the faint of heart, they come in great detail. Excellent book.

I was Embarrassed to Say I was Reading it.

I thought to myself, do I really want to read this book? Do I really want to buy into the hype of the Royal Family? Initially, I was embarrassed to say I was reading it. But, no longer. First of all, Prince Harry could read the phone book to me, and it would be entralling. His sweet, soft voice was just so easy to hear.
His story made the Royal Family real, just like the rest of us, but different types of problems. They, too, have family infighting, embarrassing moments. I hate that he and his wife and children have been treated so poorly. The story made me despise the British press and the paparazzi. It makes me think, what do I do to ensure that I don't support them? Well, I've never been one to buy tabloids, so there is a start. A very eye-opening book that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Not a Big Sebastian York Fan

I've decided I am not a fan of Sebastian York. I've listened to him numerous times in many audio books 📚. In my opinion he just doesn't have that, sexy yet cultured voice that goes with in particular, Ethan the character in this book, The Empire State. Most times he sounds like he is reading a manuscript as opposed to acting. And when he tries to do a female voice, especially a British female voice it's like nails on a chalkboard. Saskia Maarleveld on the other hand is great. She is totally believable in her character and when lending her voice to other characters she does it with ease. I preferred her "male" voice to York's. The story is just okay. I realize it's supposed to be an erotic story but it felt like the same sex scene over and over again. The underlying love story was sweet. In other genres of audio books I'm sure York would be fine, but the sexy leading man is not it.

Truth better than fiction

Well written story. Funny that it is true, we read and see so many cop stories on TV and in books, that are so imbellished and far fetched, that listening to a trues to life story is a breath of fresh air.

I can't believe how it ended. Actually, since I've listened to three previous in the series, I kind of figured, but still! I am on to the next book in the series. Gotta see what happens.

I wished I had known this was a 2 part story. As I was reaching the final chapter, I became worried because the story wasn't wrapping up, and then I learned why, there is apparently a second book. 😅 So on to the next part. But I really did enjoy the story and the actors.

Super Short Book

It was your run of the mill, Tom Clancy story. it only took me about 4 days to listen to the whole thing. This seems really quick compared to all the other Clancy novels I have read. Like I said, the story was run of the mill but good.

His voice changed

I enjoyed the book, but it was disconcerting to me that it was the same actor as the first book, but his voice seemed totally different to me. It was just really strange.
But overall a great continuation of the original story.

Hate to Love it.

I simply could not stop listening. I know a lot of people didn't like the story for obvious reasons, but hey what can I say, I enjoyed it. And can't wait to listen to the next one.
