The author was drawn into the United States Army through ROTC, and he went through training to fly helicopters in combat over Vietnam. His experiences are notable because he flew both Huey “Slicks” and Huey “Gunships”: the former on defense as he flew troops into battle, and the latter on offense as he took the battle to the enemy. Through this book, the author relives his experiences flying and fighting, with special attention given to his and other pilots’ day-to-day lives.

second in guns!
I find some of the writing
a little long in the tooth!
And memories are not in
place of incidents claimed?
Would not recommend this
writing to anyone that knows
what we still remember!😎🇺🇸

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Read third book in series. Books 1/2 not bad overbearing with McBride
violence. Book 3 to a hole new level being a combat veteran just cannot
grasp the point of such blood and guts on pages. May try one more but
I think it may be to far outside reality.
What could Andrew Peterson have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
