Historia
When Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert of Green Gables, Prince Edward Island, send for a boy orphan to help them out at the farm, they are in no way prepared for the error that will change their lives. The mistake takes the shape of Anne Shirley, a redheaded 11-year-old girl who can talk anyone under the table. Fortunately, her sunny nature and quirky imagination quickly win over her reluctant foster parents. Anne's feisty spirit soon draws many friends - and much trouble - her way.

Very good book to relax with any time of day.

Would you consider the audio edition of Anne of Green Gables to be better than the print version?
Not particularly, I enjoyed both. I tend to be a fast reader though and believe I am able to get more of the details in the audio version because it makes me listen word for word.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Mirella, especially how she grew as a person through her interaction with Anne.
Which character – as performed by Arika Escalona – was your favorite?
Anne, she was able to capture her wistfulness and imagination.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Whenever Matthew went out of his comfort zone and bought something for Anne that he thought would please her. She was able to touch him and draw him out in a way that no one else had ever been able to.
Any additional comments?
The author is a fantastic storyteller. The characters are so well drawn, you can imagine them being very real.

Historia
Like every other hobbit, Bilbo Baggins likes nothing better than a quiet evening in his snug hole in the ground, dining on a sumptuous dinner in front of a fire. But when a wandering wizard captivates him with tales of the unknown, Bilbo becomes restless. Soon he joins the wizard’s band of homeless dwarves in search of giant spiders, savage wolves, and other dangers. Bilbo quickly tires of the quest for adventure and longs for the security of his familiar home. But before he can return to his life of comfort, he must face the greatest threat of all.

A joy to revisit.
Revisado: 12-09-12
Would you consider the audio edition of The Hobbit to be better than the print version?
Yes, in many ways. The narrator brought to life the characters with his accents and I believe I got many nuances that I didn't get when I read it the first time.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Beorn, a combination of fierceness and gentleness in one package. A good man (bear?) but also a cautious one.
Which scene was your favorite?
When Gandalf and the dwarfs first came to Bilbo's house and caused his little comfortable world to turn upside down
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Not really. I enjoyed listening it to a while, then looking forward to hearing the rest of the story. I hated to see it end.
Any additional comments?
I originally read this in high school many moons ago. I thought I would revisit it because of the movie coming out to refresh my memory of the story. I really enjoyed the narrator's style and especially his singing of the dwarfish and elfish songs!

But as a single father battling demons of his own, Noel can’t do it alone.

Classic Binchy, does not disappoint
Revisado: 12-09-12
Would you listen to Minding Frankie again? Why?
Yes. The story is gripping and I love the accents.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Minding Frankie?
When Noel's parents realized they could honor their saint as they wanted to, but also expand that by giving a playground to the community.
Which scene was your favorite?
The dedication of the new playground.
If you could take any character from Minding Frankie out to dinner, who would it be and why?
Probably the cousin, she is a very interesting character and seems to have the answer to everything!
Any additional comments?
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It kept my attention from beginning to end. No snoozing off like I do with many audio books!
