Historia
Michael Crichton, creator of Jurassic Park, ER, Twister, and Westworld, had a passion project he’d been pursuing for years, ahead of his untimely passing in 2008. Knowing how special it was, his wife, Sherri Crichton, held back his notes and the partial manuscript until she found the right author to complete it: James Patterson, the world’s most popular storyteller.

Not only can we not currently explain the origin of the universe, it is questionable we will ever be able to explain it. The notion that there are universes within particles, or that particles are conscious, is ascientific, as is the hypothesis that our universe is a computer simulation. On the other hand, the idea that the universe itself is conscious is difficult to rule out entirely.

Phenomenal Stories About Ultra Geniuses
Revisado: 12-08-21
From the first chapter - Prussian Blue - to The Night Gardener's VI chapter, this fascinating in-depth set of biographies of scientific geniuses, tortured by their individual and unnatural gifts, held my attention through the very last word. After finishing this Audiobook I was compelled to also buy the Kindle version so that I would have on hand the sea of references of unusual facts and gifted personalities. This book will hold you fascinated. From the inventors of Pervitin and cyanide and their morbid uses by the Nazi Regime during WWII, to the unusual bursting beauty of how an old lemon tree dies. Mr. Labatut produced a literary masterpiece for us to enjoy and to provoke wonder.
The largely unsung geniuses like Karl Schwarzschild and his singularity to Shinichi Mochizuki and his brilliant a+b = c conjecture, which no one yet even understands, this book has many more treasures to uncover. And you will be unable to tell where you have unsuspectingly fallen into the historical fiction part of this wonderful work!
Excellent work!

Historia
For those who could read between the lines, the censored news out of China was terrifying. But the president insisted there was nothing to worry about. Fortunately, we are still a nation of skeptics. Fortunately, there are those among us who study pandemics and are willing to look unflinchingly at worst-case scenarios. Michael Lewis’ taut and brilliant nonfiction thriller pits a band of medical visionaries against the wall of ignorance that was the official response of the Trump administration to the outbreak of COVID-19.

Borrowed from Murakami
Revisado: 06-11-21
Tom Lin almost transparently borrowed from Haruki Murakami in the magical realism throughout his just ok book. I bought the Audible because of a review on The New York Times. I was not overwhelmed. I did finish the book in one week on my daily walks.
But the review was inaccurate.

Historia
Dunbar-Ortiz adroitly challenges the founding myth of the United States and shows how policy against the Indigenous peoples was colonialist and designed to seize the territories of the original inhabitants, displacing or eliminating them. And as Dunbar-Ortiz reveals, this policy was praised in popular culture, through writers like James Fenimore Cooper and Walt Whitman, and in the highest offices of government and the military.

Slaying Colonialist sacred cows
Revisado: 02-23-21
An Indigenous Peoples’ History of the U.S. by Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz
5 Stars, except for the culturally insensitive narrator, awkwardly mispronouncing Spanish names and other words. Like Hee-dahl-go for "Hidalgo" where the "H" in Spanish is always silent, and many others. This failure by a narrator of this type of ethnically-sensitive book becomes distracting.
On the positive note, Ms. Dunbar-Ortiz has managed to slay many Colonialist, English-American Hero worship Sacred Cows in her wonderful work.
She provides an exceptionally thorough, informative, educational, shocking and necessary clarification of the distorted history written by those who win wars and want to justify slavery, massive genocide and ethnic cleansing. So what do I really think?
As I listened to the Audible version, I found myself wanting the print or Kindle edition so that I could research as much of the accuracy of the detail. And I did. And all of it proved solid and enlightening; as it simultaneously also opened many historically revealing doors for me to gleefully enter.
What a wonderful magisterial true historical contribution to us all.
The many historical revelations also enlighten today's "divided" America where open racism is not only tolerated, but encouraged and celebrated by the ignorant philistines among us. Buy this book and listen to it, read it and hold it tightly.
