Historia
It’s the 22nd century. The galaxy has opened up to humanity as a hyperactive beehive of stargates and new technologies, and we suddenly find ourselves in a vast playground of different races, environments, and cultures. There’s just one catch: We are pretty much at the bottom of the food chain.

Decent Anthology
Revisado: 07-03-23
Entertaining anthology. Given the nature of anthologies - different authors, performers - it is uneven in its quality. Still, a good introduction into the Four Horsemen universe. I would have rated it higher, but Audible does not allow readers to provide fractional ratings (e.g. 4.1 stars).

Historia
Wolf of the North: It has been generations since the Northlands have seen a hero worthy of the title. Many have made the claim, but few have lived to defend it. Timid, weak, and bullied, Wulfric is as unlikely a candidate as there could be. Jorundyr's Path: Jorundyr's Path is walked only by the brave. As Wulfric pursues Adalhaid's Blood Debt, he soon learns that the path to revenge is never easy. The Blood Debt: A blade fit for a hero. An army for a tyrant. A reckoning long awaited, and a tale reaching its end.

Fun and well paced action tale. The back story of the fictional island owes a big nod to the history of the real-world Oak Island.

Historia
Joe Berkowitz loves cheese. Or at least he thought he did. After stumbling upon an artisanal tasting at an upscale cheese shop one Valentine’s Day, he realized he’d hardly even scratched the surface. These cheeses were like nothing he had ever tasted - a visceral drug-punch that reverberated deliciousness - and they were from America. He felt like he was being let in a great cosmic secret, and instantly he was in love.

Interesting and a Little Disappointing
Revisado: 03-26-23
This book is more of an exploration of the quirky American craft cheese subculture than a book about cheese. The writing is a little too cute for its own good at times. I would have liked more information about cheese in lieu of the constant one-liners and pop culture references. The author often revels in his newly acquired cheese vocabulary, but that self-indulgence does not really help the listener understand cheese. Still, the book was interesting and did spark in me a new interest in cheese, so mission accomplished!

Historia
The American supermarket is an everyday miracle. But what does it take to run one? What are the inner workings of product delivery and distribution? Who sets the price? And who suffers for the convenience and efficiency we’ve come to expect? In this rollicking exposé, author Benjamin Lorr pulls back the curtain on this highly secretive industry.

Informative, but...
Revisado: 08-24-22
Informative and interesting, written by an author passionate about his subject matter and dedicated to relating well-researched stories. Having said that, it is often preachy and unapologetically progressive.

Before you buy...
Revisado: 08-10-21
Before you buy please note that while this collection of stories lives up to the usual quality of every book in the Dresden series, it contains three tales featuring Big Foot that are also being packaged and sold as a separate Audible offering. If you have already purchased that item, as I did, you may be disappointed to find that content duplicated here.

Historia
I found the journal at work. Well, I don't know if you'd call it work, but that's where I found it. It's the lost journal of Nikola Tesla, one of the greatest inventors and visionaries ever. Before he died in 1943, he kept a notebook filled with spectacular claims and outrageous plans.

Historia
On opening day of the new baseball season a small model-kit airplane flies down from the stands and buzzes the mound, where a decorated veteran pilot is about to throw out the first ball. The toy plane is the exact replica of the one flown by the war hero. Everyone laughs, thinking it's a prank or a publicity stunt. Until it explodes, killing dozens. Seconds later a swarm of killer drones descend upon the picnicked crowd, each one carrying a powerful bomb. All across the country artificial intelligence drive systems in cars, commuter trains and even fighter planes go out of control.

Excessive Violence
Revisado: 07-11-20
I like this series of books. They are wonderfully over-the-top and action packed. Sort of a literary version of a summer block-buster. Having said that, this book seemed to be excessively violent, even by the standards set by the preceding books. Perhaps it is just my perception, skewed by recent events.

I was initially reluctant to get this because of its 20+ hour length. Glad now that I did! I would compare this book favorably to Tom Clancy's early, best work.
