For a short story it was quite engaging

The story led to some unexpected twists and turns and I enjoyed following it though admittedly at first it was a strange way to go about it. All I can tell you is it's worth hanging in there, you will be satisfied.

Beautiful counterpart to Twilight

I really enjoyed hearing things from Edwards side. It filled in so many blanks for me. I'm glad she finally got around to putting it out and that 2020 has at least one thing to recommend it! I suggest if you are a fan of the series that you make sure this is at the top of your list!

Always wonderful, better than the last!

I always enjoy Jacqueline Carey books. my soul complaint is being proper pronunciation of things which are French in nature. The story line is excellent and deepens previous plot while providing a brand new vista of intrigued to get lost in. Highly recommend!

it's almost a short story

while it is a full book and clearly set up for a sequel, it comes across as a really involved short story. I like some of the touches like him having replaced Plastics and things like that. I like the concept of the cats and ultimately what you discover about the character from the cats in the whole book was uniquely interesting. It took me a few minutes to get used to the voice of the narrator, but within 10 minutes it didn't bother me anymore. it just was Gravely and seemed a little contrived it first until you get into the story and realize that it suits the character. all-in-all I enjoyed it and listen to it while I was driving for work. Time passed very quickly. extra points for the onomatopoeias in the attempted cat language.

Delightfully original!

It wasn't a very long book but it was thoroughly enjoyable. I really enjoyed the young man Mr. Jackson doing the voices. I laughed many times and found the premise and storyline to be very immersive.
Highly recommend. There is some language for those who are sensitive to dirty words, but I didn't feel they were used gratuitously. They lent themselves to the telling of the tale.

I know that the stories were cobbled together from Individual stories rather than being written is one book but it still seemed kind of clunky. The narrator was very uninspired and had very little voice differentiation for the most part and was boring to listen to. I am glad to have the information in the additional tidbits of back story but this entire presentation was not up to what I expect from Ann McCaffrey's work.
