Historia
Vacant homes in a new housing development are erupting into flames in broad daylight with no apparent cause. It’s a perplexing mystery for dogged arson investigator Walter Sharpe and his restless new partner, Andrew Walker, an ex-US marshal who craves action. But as they puzzle over the blazes, another home miles away burns to the ground, leaving a man’s corpse in the ashes and homicide detectives Eve Ronin and Duncan Pavone demanding answers.

No politics please
Revisado: 10-02-24
Characterizing Ivermectin users as people “gobbling horse dewormer” and conspiracy theorists are what to call people who suggest that China was possibly attempting a biological weapon? Please just stop. That viewpoint is so 2020. Everyone on both sides of the aisle (other than Pfizer employees) have broadened their minds in the past 4 years to thinking that just perhaps … just maybe … we were all misled about a few things. So unnecessary to add this but obviously purposeful. Disappointing

Historia
America is under attack. Thousands lie dead after simultaneous strikes across the country. The day will come to be known as Bloody Monday. Jason Trapp, codename ‘Hangman’, was a covert operative whose feats became the stuff of legend. He was the tip of the spear—the man his country unleashed when all hope was lost. Six months ago, someone sold him out. The Agency listed him as killed in action. He lost everything—and everyone—he held dear. But Trapp’s not that easy to kill.

Good overall
Revisado: 09-27-24
The main character is very likeable and the plot was intriguing. I will continue to the next book in the series. The use of the exaggerated prevalence of white skinheads as a villain was cliche but fit I suppose with the other sprinkled politically correct characters.

I liked everything about this book and the characters. And similar to Mayday, great dialogue but also highly educational. So glad to know that this wasn’t a solo installment

Historia
Sinclair Rutherford is a young Seattle cop with a taste for the finer things. Doing menial tasks and getting hassled by superiors he doesn't respect are definitely not "finer things". Good police work and bad luck lead him to crack a case that changes quickly from a career-making break into a high-profile humiliation when footage of his pursuit of the suspect - wildly inappropriate murder weapon in hand - becomes an Internet sensation.

Uniquely great
Revisado: 08-21-24
I really enjoyed this delightfully quirky approach to this genre. The character development and dialogue provides for a fun ride. I haven’t read this author previously so this introduction was a pleasant surprise. Can’t wait to read more. And Luke Daniels is a great narrator and works perfectly with this cast of characters.

Revisado: 07-25-24
This was vintage Jack Reacher with the great Negley. I decided to read this again after the colossal failure by the Secret Service this month. This was from a time that the Reacher installments were still good and the greatest narrator ever, Dick Hill, still was at the helm. Highly recommended for multiple readings/listenings!

Too much girl power focus
Revisado: 06-21-24
I don’t understand why the characters have to continually be focused on explaining how they don’t need men and how bad it has been since the beginning of time for women. We get it already, just stick to the story and stop making the female characters over the top. In the real world, men would not seriously be interested in these female characters. And that’s a shame because it otherwise has potential but it’s too hard to get past the drivel.

Another great one!
Revisado: 04-25-24
The author Christy Barritt really owns this unique genre. Not sure how she was able to pull off having a story about a psychopath killer but kept the language clean and gave so many great reasons to accept Jesus Christ as your savior. As a believer who enjoys listening to mysteries on Audible with funny, quirky but strong characters, I don’t see how you can do much than this series. And the narrator was superb as always. I can’t wait for the rest of the series to be on Audible.

Drawn into a world of crime and corruption, Sulzberger couldn't find a way out. He couldn't escape. And when he tried to walk away, he found himself behind bars. So far, smells overly woke inspired
Revisado: 12-13-23
Just one-hour in and after pre-ordering with anticipation for a “tough” new male character, the story is sprinkled with heavy doses of today’s version of tough women who think femininity is weak and apparently just slap men silly (already 2 different women have slapped 2 different men, and did so forceful as a man). And of course, like every TV show and commercial since 2020, we learn that the lead character had a interacial relationship (contrived yawn). I was hoping the author could withstand all of the woke edits that the junior editors fresh out of woke universities are making to all otherwise good novels nowadays … novels that some of us faithfully use to escape from all of the woke madness and virtual signaling that plagues all other media. Disappointing thus far but I will update my review if there is a meaningful positive change.

Almost perfect
Revisado: 08-19-23
This really felt like one of the best mixes of story line and action. Although there is unfortunately always at least a sprinkle of wokism nowadays with those passionate young editors, it felt overly forced and unnecessarily preachy here to have the “special” relationship of the two deceased soldiers. Otherwise, near perfect. And for those who are fans of this series and this amazing narrator, I recommend listening to “And Justice for One” which was apparently written pre-cell phones but in some ways makes it even better.
