What disappointed you about Murder to Go?
What a waste of money on this one. Boring stories the bits I tried to listen to anyway. I have to say I didn't listen to the whole thing only part of each story. It sounds like the narrators were talking from the bottom of a metal barrel. I can't listen to this.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Anger at the waste of money.

Loved it!

Would you consider the audio edition of The Body in the Boudoir to be better than the print version?
I have read several of her books but only listened to this one. I liked listening to this one. It gave me more of a sense of place and time. It was sweet, romantic and had multiple murders. Like having a sweet and savory combined dish as a meal (something else I enjoy). I found this one hard to leave alone because it seems to be the first book of the series and although I've read (and enjoyed) others I never knew how their relationship came to be and that part was enlightening.
This is not a hard core murder and mayhem type of book but it is certainly MY type of book.
I hope you have more of Katherine Hall Page available soon and please, please, please keep the same reader. She was wonderful.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Yes, because of the combination budding romance and murders seemingly without rhyme or reason.
Which character – as performed by Tanya Eby – was your favorite?
Faith, the central character.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Several, but can't think of one right now.
Any additional comments?
Please have more of her books available soon. Preferably in order since this being the first made such an impression on me. I wish I would have listened to this one before I read the others.

Love the entire series!! Paperback & Audio!!!!
Revisado: 10-19-12
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I love these books. I own (still own), have read & enjoyed the entire series of paperbacks several years ago. Hadn't read them in a long time so I purchased all the audio editions that were available (there are one or two missing).
I found I loved the audio editions even more because Ruth Ann Phimister brings life to these southern ladies in a way that makes me want to listen to her over and over again. I don't know how she does all those voices but she does a wonderful job at it. They are entertainment not documentaries so yes, they are light but so what! I still love them. Almost makes me want to move to Alabama even though I love my Pacific Northwest so very much.
When I listen to these books I feel like I'm there, miles away from my physical body.
I highly recommend them if you want to sink into a book and feel like you're there in a nice cozy place with great people. I couldn't possibly say enough great things about the books and the narrator. I was very please.
What did you like best about this story?
I liked all the great things in between the action i.e. murder(s). The home life, family interactions (the sometimes impossible sister relationship) and even the pets provide humor, realism and believability to the characters. This goes for all the books in the series. I do like some better than others but there isn't one that I don't like.
What does Ruth Ann Phimister bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Having read the books and now years later listening to Ruth Ann Phimister I'd have to say she brought the characters more to life for me. I especially love her voice for Patricia Anne, soft, gentle, very southern but also formidable when she needs to be. I'd be curious to know if she's really southern because of her great accents in these books or if she just does a great southern accent.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
A 'feel good' murder mystery.
Any additional comments?
I read some very bad reviews about these books and I don't know what the people were expecting. Maybe because I read them before listening to them (albeit years apart) I already knew what I was getting into. I think the books are exactly what they are billed as and if it's not someone's particular 'cup of tea' I don't think that's a reflection on the book but on the taste of the person writing the review.
I enjoyed every minute of listening to these books.

After a week of fruitless looking, she finally finds the perfect place—a well preserved large house on a large plot of land in an area called Hollow Valley. There are only a few problems. Such as the real estate agent disappeared mid-showing and hasn’t been seen since.

Joan Hess fan VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!
Revisado: 03-09-12
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
NO. I have read or listened to everything Joan Hess has written regardless of the series. I love her books, LOVE THEM, but this one has to be an exception. I don't know if it's just the narrator on this one which I find dull and lifeless or the story or the combination of the two but I just can't listen to it. I have wasted my money. It took me several days to get through part 1 (I kept trying because I love Joan Hess' work so much) which I usually do in one day because it is so difficult to tolerate the sound. I will note who narrated this one and will not purchase anything else she reads. It's of course not personal, I'm sure she's a lovely woman but as far as being a narrator I think maybe she should do text books or something. It just sounds so monotone and you often can't tell when the speaker changes because the voice is the same. I also found the story (the first few hours anyway because I won't force myself to try and listen to more) to be not up to her usual standard.Overall I'm very disappointed and regretful that I made this purchase but having loved all that Joan has written I didn't think twice about the purchase and now I know to pay attention when it's a different narrator than usual for the author.I don't wish to be negative but I feel that other Joan Hess fans should be warned. I wish I could trade it for something else, because I would in a heartbeat.
Would you ever listen to anything by Joan Hess again?
Yes but I will check to see who is narrating it first.
What didn’t you like about Rachael Warren’s performance?
It was dull and lackluster which made the book difficult to follow because you often can't tell when the speaker changes. I'm a long time Audible customer but will not buy anything else she reads. If Joan Hess continues with her I will buy the book and read it instead. This was far below the standards I have come to expect from Audible.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Don't know.

Enjoyed 1/3 of stories
Revisado: 02-19-12
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I didn't look closely enough to realize I was only buying a short book by 3 different authors instead of one long book by Joanne Fluke.
I loved the Gingerbread Cookie Murder by Joanne Fluke but the other two authors and especially the narrators were not to my liking. I'm not saying they are bad, they are just not for me. I will continue to purchase books by Joanne Fluke.

Tasty story as usual.
Revisado: 02-06-12
If you could sum up Lemon Meringue Pie Murder in three words, what would they be?
I loved it.
What did you like best about this story?
I like the way I can relate to the characters in her stories. I could easily lose myself as a resident of Lake Eden.
What does Suzanne Toren bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Great voice, inflections and accents. It's easy to tell who is speaking without being told. She has a wonderful gift.
Any additional comments?
Joanne Fluke is a new author for me. I usually find one I like and then read all they have written. Joanne is now on my list to read all she has written. I have only read five so far but am continuing on my journey.
