Night Breed is my second favorite book in the series. I Just finished Wolves and Black Roses, which is my first favorite. It was a close toss up between the two of course. Darrien and Sarah are the main characters in this one. True love is tested, and to love someone for who they are, rather than what they are or how they look, is the true test of that love. This is one romantic read.

Excellent and enjoyable read. The main character is young yet the writing is descriptive and mature which allows the character and the story to grow up. It is more of an intelligent read, rather than something happening all the time. "Fledgling" starts with the adventures of Theo who was born into a scholars family, however has the mind and precise reflexes of a Korval pilot. She struggles to both discover and hone her skills as well as find her purpose in the planet.

I've read all of the Lee and Miller stories and wanted to give the audio book a try. I will stick with the paperbacks. Some stories just seem to be better read to yourself.

I just finished Wolves and Black Roses (my favorite of all three books thus far). This first book, Born to Darkness was a very good start, but the story gets really good in the second and third books. I really think book one and two should be combined so you see how full and more complete and original this story really is. The narration is just fantastic in all three books. I highly recommend this series. You must get books 1 & 2 "together" which will fully satisfy your readers needs and will help you decide to go on with book 3 (which you must, because it is HOT! and again, has an open ending for the next book.

I've purchased the first 3 audio books in the series, and Wolves and Black Roses is my favorite - mostly because of the couple choice, Summer and Anton. They are a one big fire ball of female-male attraction at it's ripest, without the gore details. Summer is promised by her family to marry Anton's brother (I hope I can say this??) whom she has never even met. Anton is sent from the Outerlands to collect Summer and bring her home to marry his brother, but Summer has always been in love with Anton who is every woman's dream - the hunky, masculine, and towering powerful male who has the style, grace and power of a surreal wolf-man. Summer does her best to "tempt' Anton into being with her, and falling in love with her, but Anton tries his best to avoid her efforts at all costs. Summer is gorgeous, with long brown shiny flowing hair and the perfect assets and voice to match. Anton's long flowing blonde hair and emotional and sexual battle with Summer lends itself to a delicious, erotic overload (if your imagination in imagery is as vivid as mine!!) They both are strong willed and determined in their efforts to attract and detach themselves from the push and pull we call the intense 'mating game'.

All the while, Summer has two sisters who are equally beautiful, but in very different ways. Sarah is the firey red head with green eyes, and is a witch who can talk with the dead, and Nicole is more like you and I, street smart and sassy, and Kathrina is the youngest sister, the gothic hottie who is just learning of her own secret powers. It is these sisters destiny to come together and fight some bad vamps, focusing on the ancient vamps who want to start a war between the wolves and the vampires. There is something much more sinister going on in the story as it teases you along and beacons your intelligence to come forth and find out what it is (which I am certain will be found out in the final book).

Many secondary subjects are introduced. Summer can see dead people and changes into something quite unexpected to fend off her captor, which only "thrills" him at her transformation even more and makes him lust to own her in every imaginable way possible at any cost.

Black Roses has a great significance, and how they are threaded through the story is very interesting and romantic in the dark sense. It is sad to find out the Marius, Summers enchanting captor, has been seeking his revenge in vain, but oh how romantic the story is.

The narrators voices for Summer and Anton were really great and brought sooooo much to the heat of the characters. Destiny Landon (female narrator) totally seduces Anton and Lee James (male narrator) totally refuses her (only in the movies or in books I say! Even I was ready to 'be with' Summer during her very first attempt.) All of the accents and necessary passion and emotion were beautifully delivered in this audio book.

I started this book not expecting to like it. First, its in the spy genre and I’m tired off Fleming-esque spy novels. Second, its written by L. Ron Hubbard, of whom it could be said I’m not a fan. However, this novel is actually quite good. It’s a well-crafted and compelling story. World War II. Spies and intrigue. It's somewhat old-fashioned, but I found it a good read. Two women and a man on the run, dodging the Chinese and the Japanese, and only one of them knows why.

We find the protagonist, Kurt Reid, reflecting over his past. He is at a nightclub watching a beautiful woman from across the way. He starts up a conversation. That is his first mistake. This could cost his life. Now he running around Japan trying to find someone to trust.

I am not a big fan of pulp mystery but I figured this would be better then Hubbard’s Science Fiction. It was and it wasn’t. I found myself skimming a lot of description because it seemed like one page he was getting away from t...more

The narration hilarious in some parts, and added to the telling very much. I wonder if the Scientology audio book has a russian female accent in it...?

One guy loving two girls who just happen to be the same girl!
