Historia
Something has always felt slightly off in Meghan’s life, ever since her father disappeared before her eyes when she was six. She has never quite fit in at school…or at home. When a dark stranger begins watching her from afar, and her prankster best friend becomes strangely protective of her, Meghan senses that everything she’s known is about to change. But she could never have guessed the truth--that she is the daughter of a mythical faery king and is a pawn in a deadly war.

Great story! Had me from the first chapter!

Would you consider the audio edition of The Iron King to be better than the print version?
Yes, Khristine Hvam did an excellent job.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Iron King?
There were so many....but I would have to say the most memorable was when Ash promised to lead Megan to the Iron King and almost died in doing so.
What about Khristine Hvam’s performance did you like?
Fabulous performance all the way around. I heard every character loud and clear and loved them all because of her performance.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes.

Historia
The year is 2195. The place is New Victoria - a high-tech nation modeled on the manners, mores, and fashions of an antique era. A teenager in high society, Nora Dearly is far more interested in military history and her country’s political unrest than in tea parties and debutante balls. But after her beloved parents die, Nora is left at the mercy of her domineering aunt, a social-climbing spendthrift who has squandered the family fortune and now plans to marry her niece off for money.

Fantastic Listen!
Revisado: 10-22-12
Would you consider the audio edition of Dearly, Departed to be better than the print version?
I have not read the print version, however, I would have to say, yes, the audio edition is better. I read a lot of books and listen to a lot of books and Dearly, Departed was just one of those books you know you have to listen to and it was one of the best listens I have experienced. With all of the different narrators, I was completely drawn into this story and this world Ms. Habel has created. I am hoping the next book, Dearly, Beloved, will arrive on audio soon. I have been waiting quite impatiently.
What other book might you compare Dearly, Departed to and why?
I'm not really sure there is anything out there, at least that I have read, that could be compared to Dearly, Departed. I do see it more of a love story than anything. Obviously, there are many different social and economic issues/themes throughout the book. For me, however, it was all about Bram. He is such a unique hero/love interest and all around interesting person, I came away wondering how the love between Nora and Bram could last and what that entire situation would be like.
What does Kim Mai Guest bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
There were four narrators and they brought the story to life in a way I could not have experienced if I had read it.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
More like a dull ache of sadness for Bram and the others like him.

Excellent Listen with a Fun Concept
Revisado: 10-22-12
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely, I already have. The story was dynamic and fresh, the characters were believable and plot moved at just the right pace. In the end, I was so satisfied with the initial book but am still left wanting more, more, more!
What did you like best about this story?
I loved the concept of the Tarot being real beings. Kresley Cole brought a completely new supernatural idea to life and did it well.
What about Emma Galvin and Keith Nobbs ’s performance did you like?
Emma Galvin was perfect! Loved her accent, loved the accents of her charactures (Jackson - be still my heart) loved the pace - everything! Keith Nobbs did a great job with his portrayal of a disturbed person - gave me goosebumps.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
(Spoilers) The ending when Jackson had come for Evie, but when he found her and realized what she was, seemed to reject the idea of being with her.
Any additional comments?
Fantastic listen - highly recommended and wished we didn't have to wait for the next one!!!
