Uninspiring Investment Book
Revisado: 10-31-23
A disappointing read for anyone seeking fresh and practical insights into the world of finance. While the book presents the conventional advice of buying low-cost index funds, avoiding market timing, and ignoring the news, it fails to offer anything new that sets it apart from countless other investment guides.
The primary flaw of this book lies in the author's misplaced priorities. Instead of focusing on delivering genuine investment wisdom, the author appears more intent on delivering political sermons on climate change and the sanctity of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) investing. The relentless emphasis on these topics detracts from the core purpose of the book, which is to provide valuable investment advice.
Readers interested in expanding their financial knowledge beyond the very basic are likely to find themselves sorely disappointed. The lack of originality in the content and the absence of any unique insights into wealth management make this book a frustrating read for those seeking practical guidance in improving their investment returns.

Historia
Scraps, a gutter child, is sitting in his hiding place in a back alley, waiting for the cold thunderstorm to pass. Suddenly, lightning strikes in front of him, and then a second time. The two lightning bolts become men — two wizards — one from the Red Order, the other from the Blue. The Red Wizard, chanting his curses, throws lightning bolts and fireballs. The Blue Wizard, singing his spells, throws lightning bolts and ice shards.

Historia
This book gives you the answers in a twelve-step guide to accumulating vast riches the way hedge fund managers do - by playing trillion-dollar poker with a marked deck. Through each easy step, you'll learn the sleight of hand and disregard for basic morality you'll need to move from making tens of dollars an hour to millions an hour!

Deceptive title
Revisado: 10-05-14
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Someone who is interested in listening for hours to a misguided individual who does not understand economics discuss ethics and morality.
If you are of low intelligence, paranoid, like socialism or conspiracy theories you may enjoy this book.
Has How to Make a Million Dollars an Hour turned you off from other books in this genre?
I am interested in financial books. However this was not a financial book, it was an ethics book.
Have you listened to any of Oliver Wyman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Reading was good. Content was not.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from How to Make a Million Dollars an Hour?
I would not publish this book. It is absolute rubbish.
Any additional comments?
The title is deceptive, it contains no information on how to make a million dollars a hour.
It is an eight hour rant about the ethics of hedge funds. I think it is more unethical to publish a book with a deceptive title than for a hedge fund to allocate capital to support economic growth.

Revisado: 02-12-13
The title of this piece of trash is a misnomer.
The author/narrator constants swears to the extent is painful to listen. F--- this, F--- that.
His verbal skills have more in common with a street thug, than a supposed nerd.
It would be ok, if the information conveyed between the constant stream of profanity was of any use. However, his "self help" advice is both shallow and obvious. Eg. "Don't listen to negativity from your brain. It is just a brain f---"
No scientific evidence is given in regards to any of his self help advice.
I could only recommend this for individuals of low IQ, who enjoy listening to swearing.
The nerdy aspect of this audiobook are the references to RPGs, video games, Dungeons and Dragons.

This is a fun and engaging novel from Mary Andrea Clarke. Set in Pre-Regency London, The Crimson Cavalier combines gallantry, humour, and skulduggery in an eminently readable debut. Once I got into it I couldn't put it down. Let's hope that the Crimson Cavalier will ride again!

Our most commonly held formula for success is broken. Conventional wisdom holds that once we succeed, we’ll be happy; that once we get that great job, win that next promotion, lose those five pounds, happiness will follow. But the science reveals this formula to be backward: Happiness fuels success, not the other way around.

Historia
At this very moment, you are surrounded by sound. Pause for a minute and try to listen to it all: the chatter of a passing conversation, the gentle whoosh of air vents, noise from a nearby street, someone turning the pages of a book, birds chirping in the trees. We rarely pay attention to everything we hear, but every noise in our environment has the ability to change our mood, decrease our productivity, even affect our health. While sound can heal, both emotionally and physically, it can also hurt us.

Great concept for a book, however did not deliver.
Non-scientific garbage. 100% Fluff. Eg. Music can make you feel calm, creative etc.
No advice other than to choose music which appeals to you.
Would have prefered scientific studies into how it transforms the brain.
Maybe this book would appeal to those interested in crystal healing, auras, feng shui etc.

Not funny. The author details the adversity he faced growing up as a young homosexual. Not a comedy at all. Very sad at times. Was not expecting an autobiography.
