Main character 🤮
Revisado: 04-28-25
Story dragged in a sludge-fest of raw emotion. It is an emotional issue, but Hannah was unlikeable even before the accident. Lost interest in her early on. Book could have been much shorter with better effect.

Predictable & Unrealistic
Revisado: 03-17-25
Dr Scarlett’s is a tad too intense and unlikeable the more these books continue. Last book she puts herself at risk at a nuclear ☢️ plant in crisis, this time in a virologists nightmare. Her risk taking seems more like a death wish, maybe because her personal life is such a mess. What ME is also a lawyer, scuba diver, etc. she’s not relatable at all. Good thing it was free on audible plus, otherwise I’d feel cheated.

Keeps You Engaged
Revisado: 01-28-25
Story is superb, with constant twists and turns. Transitional music was odd & more of a distraction than enhancement. A bit over-acted as well. Overall entertaining & engaging.

Underwhelming
Revisado: 01-22-25
Both main characters unbelievably unrealistic. Actually so was the entire plot. Entirely too sappy just stupid. Good thing I could multitask while listening so it wasn’t as much time list forever.

Historia
When Heather McKinley dreamed of becoming a doctor, she imagined curing sick kids and sporting pink stethoscopes. She never anticipated the sleepless nights, grueling exams, and endless labs. And she certainly never knew that her medical school earned the nickname Dead Med thanks to the tragic history of students overdosing on illegal drugs. But Heather would never consider doing anything like that. That is, until her longtime boyfriend dumps her, she finds herself failing anatomy, and her world starts to crumble.

Med Sounded Too much Like Middle School
Revisado: 10-13-24
Wanted to like this more, but no one too root for in this cast of characters that reminded me of middle school. All, except Abe, with so many insecurities and lack of self-control that it was amazing they would have made it to medical school in the first place. Nobody has a moral compass here. Abe was the only like able character, but too insecure to deal with Rachel or get out of the clinic from hell. Money management was not his gift either. Interesting how the author weaved the characters’ private motives together to come up with an unlikely and difficult to believe solution. Ending was very disappointing. The future of medicine is pretty underwhelming with this bunch of ethically challenged “doctors”. Yikes!!!!

Characters Make This Series
Revisado: 07-05-24
Love the characters and the wit. I realize Vic is supposed to be inner city & street hardened, but a little less use of the F word would be great. Would like if the author spent a little time reviewing previous happenings at beginning of each book. You would not know what’s happening if you skipped one in the series. If it’s been a while since you read one a refresher is helpful. Even if there’s a qualifier so those who don’t need it can skip. I love the friendship between Walt & Bear. ❤️

Loved the Message, but needs different voices.
Revisado: 06-20-24
So difficult to find stories with Godly themes. When I do find them, sometimes made less enjoyable by narration style. This got confusing 🫤 because the same voice was used for all characters. It’s hard to go between male and female, but no attempt was made here. Quality of narration makes such a huge difference. Almost gave up early on this one due to confusion because of this issue. Hard to follow story.

Premise Good, but dragged
Revisado: 05-24-24
The idea of maturing as a believer and trusting God and not yourself was a good premise. I wanted to like the main character, but found her whiny and too snarky and unkind, and that was before she had anything to whine about. I grew up with my dad gone for 3 years of my life serving overseas ( 2 years of that in Vietnam). It’s hard to hold the house together, especially with the constant fear that maybe he wouldn’t ever come home . Ashly was too much the other way. She reminded me of overly friendly wait staff at restaurants trying too hard. Her optimism came off as too good to be true so ….unbelievable. Liam was just clueless and while I appreciate his passion and the good work he did, it was at the expense of his family. The idea and conflicts were good, but it was a hard sell on the characters. It was ok, but could have been so much better.

Same story, different brother
Revisado: 05-15-24
So I listened to all 3 books in this series. Same basic plot in all 3 with each featuring a different brother. I can’t help but notice at each marriage proposal, the girl gets a marquis diamond with platinum setting. The brother’ wives must all have the same ring 💍. I’m thinking the author likes that diamond cut an awful lot or did some cut and paste between books. All the wives are beautiful, smart with great curves and long legs. Each brother sounds the same in each book so that they could be interchangeable. Not sure why I listened except 1. Free with audible plus and 2. To get the giggle when the same ring was presented.

Characters hard to believe
Revisado: 04-09-24
The premise is good, but the characters lack dimension. Quite lengthy and could have been more effective in a shorter version. So challenging to find really engaging Christian fiction. Need to develop characters that have realistic battles with sin, since most of us need our savior every hour of every day.
