Historia
1200 AD - In the time following the death of Richard the Lionheart and the ascension of his brother, John, to the throne of England, a plot against the new king is hatched from an unexpected place - deep within the bowels of The Lateran Palace in Rome. It is rumored that the Pope himself is behind it. It is a plot so dark, and so dastardly, that William Marshal needs men who specialize in dark and dirty games in order to save a king they all hate, yet a king that England desperately needs.

Might be DNF
Revisado: 08-17-22
I really like the story but the narrator is worse than a root canal. His sentences run together and at times I struggle to figure out what he is saying. A good addition to Kathryn LeVeque’s library but I don’t know if I can finish

Historia
Hugh Brinsley-Norton, the duke of Kingsland, is in need of a duchess. However, restoring the dukedom - left in ruins by his father - to its former glory demands all his time, with little room for sentiment. He places an advert encouraging the single ladies of the ton to write why they should be the one chosen, and leaves it to his efficient secretary to select his future wife.

Ms Heath does it again
Revisado: 10-22-21
I started reading Lorraine Heath years ago. I fell in love with her Scoundrels. Luke and The Dodger still hold a special place in my heart. But now I have to make room for King. This is one of her best and I’m so glad I used a credit on this. I don’t like to do spoilers so I won’t go into the details but I’m patiently waiting forThe Chessmen to have their stories told.

Historia
London banking heiress Hattie Greenfield wanted just three things in life: acclaim as an artist, a noble cause, marriage to a young lord who puts the gentle in gentleman. Why, then, does this Oxford scholar find herself at the altar with the darkly attractive financier Lucian Blackstone, whose murky past and ruthless business practices strike fear into the hearts of Britain's peerage? Trust Hattie to take an invigorating little adventure too far. Now she's stuck with a churlish Scot who just might be the end of her ambitions...

This is turning out to be a DNF
Revisado: 09-21-21
I’m halfway thru and I honestly don’t know if I will finish this. Love Lucien, but I do not like Hattie. The first two books were wonderful, in fact the first is in my all time great list. But Ms Dunmore has created a shrew in her heroine. I don’t condone violence of any kind, but I want to kick her in her can!

Not much of a plot
Revisado: 09-07-21
I don’t know. Maybe I’m just to old now, but it seems this author and others fill up most pages with erotica instead of a story. I would have loved hearing more about the women, the reasons they did what they do, instead of sex every other chapter. I was looking forward to this book and it started off well enough. But it became rather boring after a while. If I wanted erotica, I would have purchased erotica. The narrator was ok but her American male accent was not done well. I don’t know if I will purchase the rest in the series. Hopefully they won’t be soft porn.

They Don’t Like That We Are The Future
Revisado: 07-08-20
I have to admit, the first two books were disappointing for me, but Sarah has redeemed herself with Ewen and Grace’s story. Bravo, Ms Sarah! And that one line, They Don’t Like That We Are The Future, hit home. How perfect is that one line now!

It was going to be a five star
Revisado: 06-23-20
This book had it all until the very end. It has the strong H, the strong determined h, romance, sexiness, and mystery. I kept telling myself I was going to listen to it again when it came to an end. The narrator brought the characters to life. The whole book was wonderful until the last few chapters. It was like the author spent hours decorating a three tier cake and forgot the top tier. I wanted to know what happened to Hugh when he was a child and what happened to his family. I wanted to know what his partners thought when the real villain was caught. I wanted to know about Hugh and his partners did when they met Valerie again. Instead we didn’t learn of any of those things. What happened? I felt robbed!

Historia
In serving the wealthy power brokers of New York society, Frank Tripp has finally gained the respectability and security his own upbringing lacked. There’s no issue he cannot fix...except for one: the beautiful and reckless daughter of an important client who doesn’t seem to understand the word danger. Excitement lies just below 42nd Street, and Mamie Greene is determined to explore all of it - while playing a modern-day Robin Hood along the way. What she doesn’t need is her father’s lawyer dogging her every step.

Less is More
Revisado: 01-24-20
This would have been a great book if the author spent more time with character development and less time describing the sex scenes. I’m certainly not a prude but I’d like to know why Mamie did what she did in the poverty district. What moved her, why was Frank a lawyer, what made him stop all contact with his mother and brother. I’ve noticed that a lot of the authors are concentrating on erotica instead of the story, how very sad.
