Historia
As the black sheep of the family, choreographer Cassidy Bliss vowed she'd do anything to get home in time to help with her sister's wedding and avoid family disappointment . . . again. She just never expected "anything" would involve sharing the last rental car with the jerk who cut her off in line at the airport this morning. But horrible times apparently call for here-goes-nothing measures.

100% Chick flick- predictable, but satisfying in the way that all the ends are tied.

Can we please make this into a movie? Like the girls' version of Planes, Trains, and Automobiles- as suggested by the title.

Historia
Fly Away is the story of three women who have lost their way and need each other - plus a miracle - to transform their lives. An emotionally-complex, heart-wrenching novel about love, family, motherhood, loss, and redemption, Fly Away reminds us that where there is life, there is hope and where there is love, there is forgiveness. Told with her trademark visceral storytelling and illuminating prose, Kristin Hannah reveals why she is one of the most beloved writers of our day.

Don’t Pay Attention to the Negative Reviews
Revisado: 03-05-21
I read this book/listened to the audiobook a few years ago. I didn’t know about Firefly Lane at all. Then I saw the Netflix series of Firefly Lane and remembered the names of the main characters. I listened to the Firefly Lane audiobook and didn’t remember having read it. Then I began this one, remembered it, and still love it. So many people are giving this book negative reviews. I rather enjoy this book because it isn’t fake! It’s in fact, quite accurate! The book also tells the backstory of WHY Cloud was the way she was. It can be a stand alone book (trust me, I’ve done it!), or you can enjoy it after Firefly Lane. Either way, these stories are full of forgiveness and love, even though there is heartache and loss along the way. It’s REAL LIFE; not some fairy tale. If you’ve had heartache, loss, or have a family member who struggles with addiction or other forms of abuse, this book is wonderful. It shows compassion and how important it is to hold those who are close to you- even closer. I’d give it 5 stars all the way around, but even I skip past those reviews (too good to be true!). Enjoy the book and make a decision yourself! I doubt you will be disappointed!

Average
Revisado: 10-27-20
This book was decent, possibly even historically accurate. However, I felt like the author was trying too hard to “subtly” teach the reader about WW2 aircraft and such. It made listening to the story difficult, especially when the listener/reader is familiar with it. The story also ends abruptly- I wanted to see what happened when she reunited with the guy she was going to date before she left the US for her mission. I was a bit sad to not hear about that. Also, I felt the narrator was holding her breath as she talked because she focused on enunciating so much. These are just my opinions... overall I would say the book is average. There are others I could read/listen to over and over again.
