Historia
"I’m James Taylor and I’m a professional autobiographer", says the celebrated folk singer at the start of this tender audio memoir. Through decades of music by one of the best-selling musicians of all time, who created classics like "Fire and Rain" and "Carolina in My Mind", James Taylor has doled out his history in the poetry of his work. Taylor says his early life is, "the source of many of my songs", and Break Shot is a tour of his first 21 years in rich, new detail.

Historia
FitzChivalry - royal bastard and former king’s assassin - has left his life of intrigue behind. As far as the rest of the world knows, FitzChivalry Farseer is dead and buried. Masquerading as Tom Badgerlock, Fitz is now married to his childhood sweetheart, Molly, and leading the quiet life of a country squire. Though Fitz is haunted by the disappearance of the Fool, who did so much to shape Fitz into the man he has become, such private hurts are put aside in the business of daily life, at least until the appearance of menacing, pale-skinned strangers casts a sinister shadow over Fitz’s past...and his future.

Listen to it but don't try to read it
Revisado: 09-27-16
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No. I love both Fitz and the Fool as characters but Robin Hobbs writing style has gotten so bloated with useless information and completely unnecessary scenes (to build page count? to make what should be a single book into a trilogy?) that you'd be bored to death reading the book. Thank goodness for Audible. I could listen to the books while doing other tasks which helped me through the HOURS of boredom.
Has Fool's Assassin turned you off from other books in this genre?
No, Fantasy is a great genre, but I'm no longer a Robin Hobb fan.
What about Elliot Hill’s performance did you like?
He did a good job. Thank goodness he used enough tonal inflection in his voice to help me stay awake!
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Nope.
Any additional comments?
So much of this book revolves around simple country life in Withywoods (never read the book so I don't know if that is the correct spelling). While this was interesting for 5 minutes I found myself ready to scream having to put up with it for over 20 hours.

Loved the book, really liked the audible version.
Revisado: 12-07-15
I read Elantris when Sanderson first published it and thought it was excellent at the time. After hearing it now I've got to admit I like it more than I did before.
I wasn't as enamored with the narrator's performance however. He did an overall very good job but there was something about his intonation at times (quite often) where he sounded like he was awestruck. It was just the too over the top and distracted me from enjoying the story. Think of it like this: I've said I thought the story was excellent. If he were narrating that it would read like "I thought the story was INCREDIBLY FAR BEYOND ANYTHING IVE EVER READ BEFORE". See? Just too intense.

Dresden keeps getting better
Revisado: 11-06-15
Where does White Night rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This will be short and simple ... each book (so far) in The Dresden Files is more enjoyable that the previous. I'm completely sold on the story line and the characters. The action scenes of course are outstanding. The stories never seem to stop to catch their breath, just keep running Harry! Bravo (in every way).

Meh.
Revisado: 11-06-15
Would you try another book from Dean Koontz and/or David Aaron Baker?
This was my first Dean Koontz book. I chose this one because it seems to get great reviews. I felt the book plodded along at a steady and thoroughly boring pace. I liked Odd Thomas as a character but found the bad guys very cliche and predictable.
David Aaron Baker however did a fine job reading the book and I would listen to another book by him in the future
What do you think your next listen will be?
Unknown
What about David Aaron Baker’s performance did you like?
I enjoyed how he portrayed each character adding distinctive intonation to each to make audio identification seamless. By doing this he essentially transported me into the story more-so than the average narrator.
Any additional comments?
Well, if this book gets rave reviews by Koontz fans I guess I've had enough Koontz. Don't look for me to read anything else by this author.

Historia
The RMS Titanic sailed from Southampton en route for New York on her maiden voyage with 2,228 passengers and crew on board. On 14 April, 1912, at twenty minutes before midnight, sailing at almost full speed, she struck an iceberg and sank in just two and a half hours. Over 1500 lives were lost. This is the story of a great tragedy described by the surviving passengers, officers, and crew who were on board that night. Firsthand accounts help to explain why so few of the passengers took to the lifeboats.

Outstanding
Revisado: 06-12-15
I've been intrigued by the Titanic since I was a child in the 1960s. Of course I've read many of the published works regarding the sinking of this great vessel however these pale in comparison to hearing the actual passengers / survivors tell the story in their own words. Hearing the inflections in their voice as they speak of the event brings it to life in an almost ghostly manner.

Steel heart was fun. Mitosis was ok, interesting but short. Firefight outdid both by a long shot. Loved it. Loved the ending. Lots of room left for future installments but completely satisfying still. Sanderson is doing it sooooo right. Bravo!
