Writing clever and imaginative, reading not flawless but well done and entertaining.

The short stories connect in a reasonable fashion, including the titled one, to close nicely in the end. The epilogue is grand as well. Even when using zombies, it didn't fall into tired tropes, and was surprisingly fresh with their use as subject matter.

I was very pleased with the narrator, she has a solid grasp on varied accents to keep things interesting, and her tones fluctuate as well. My only criticism - and I WISH I knew how to put this better into words - is there are a handful of times she gives her voice an inflection, to show sarcasm or for a partial phrase much like I'm writing between these two comas here, that feels a little forced or strong or something? It's just that tad bit SOMETHING that makes that portion of her reading show it's lacking, but I couldn't tell you what she needed to do differently. Maybe a few more takes with that particular line or something, I don't know. Those moments didn't detract from the overall reading, though, and it wouldn't give me pause to future works read by her.

A great listen to get through afternoon paperwork, or a drive back up North to visit the parents. Well worth the fiver for an entertaining couple of hours.
