Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

Historia
When Robin Ellacott opens an unexpected delivery, she is horrified to discover that it contains a woman's severed leg. Her boss, private detective Cormoran Strike, is less surprised but just as alarmed. He suspects that four people from his past could be responsible - and any one of them is capable of sustained and unspeakable brutality. With the police focusing on the one suspect Strike has essentially ruled out, he and Robin take matters into their own hands and delve into the dark and twisted worlds of the other three men.

the endings are very abrupt
Revisado: 09-20-22
these books are fun to listen to. I like the stories a lot, but the writing really could be better. I feel like she has come very far since hp as a writer but the endings of every single one of these are really lacking.

Historia
A wonderfully quirky, heartbreaking, heart-warming, and thought-provoking story of a woman's dog who not only talks to her, he talks to God. Recently widowed Mary Fassler has no choice except to believe Rufus, the miniature schnauzer, who claims to speak to the Divine. The question is: Will Mary follow the dog's advice and leave everything she knows and loves? Is this at the urging of God? Or is it something else? Will Mary risk it all or ignore the urgings of her own heart?

beautiful message in a cute delivery
Revisado: 06-11-22
I've never read "christian" fiction before, but the title and the reviews caught my attention. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised and really loved the message of the book and the delivery was really cute. I love the relationship Mary has with Ruphus. I also loved the simplicity of Ruphus relationship with God, it was very childlike and to the point in a way. lovely story. oh I should speak to the performance as well... she delivered the story amazingly.

tolerable but not good
Revisado: 01-04-17
This book has its ups and downs. There is some fun stuff, but mostly its just hard to get through. the love story is ok, but the "magic" is really kind of ridiculous. The writing is very weak.

The worst in the series
Revisado: 10-21-16
This is a great series.. but this book is really the worst book of the series... and I feel like the reader is absolutely the worst of the series. She does male vices well but she makes Gabriel sound very manly.

Historia
Judith Hampton was as beautiful as she was proud and loyal. Her dear Scottish friend from childhood was about to give birth, and Judith had promised to be at her side. But there was another reason for the journey from her bleak English home to the Highlands: to meet the father she had never known, the Laird Maclean. Nothing prepared her, however, for the sight of the Scottish barbarian who was to escort her into his land...Iain Maitland, laird of his clan, a man more powerfully compelling than any she had ever encountered.

Historia
Equal parts Dexter and 50 Shades, this is the eagerly awaited new novel from A. R. Torre, author of the award winning erotic thriller, The Girl in 6E. The rules are the same. I can't open the door. I can't leave. I can't kill anyone. The only difference is, I don't set the rules anymore. Guards in grey uniforms do. It is everything I never wanted and everything I always deserved. I write to you now, from a prison cell. My home for the next 20 to 30 years. That's the going term for murder.

Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

Wow.
Revisado: 11-21-15
I wasn't expecting to enjoy this as much as I did. It was excellent! The author provides the right amount of technology with gripping fear and humor. It is a prefect balance. Now that I have read the book I feel like I can go be disappointed by the movie.
