Soo it's a dystopian youth/ tween fantasy. meant to be hard to believe. but this takes it to a totally unwanted level of un- believable.

The narrator does a fantastic job but the main character yells a LOT. With no warning. Headphones make that extremely unpleasant as the volume suddenly jumps.

But my biggest issue is how unbelievable it is.
They find a new city with two factions. Without understanding any of the politics they chose a side, and then decide the best thing to do would be to invite these new people they don't understand to their hidden protected city that has plenty of food. and btw, bring weapons cause we don't have any.

yeah invite an armed force inside your city cause you have food and shelter and they don't.

and this is the entire first half of the book! The mission is to go ask their city's permission.

and when they FINALLY get there, their city, instead of telling the teen-agers they're idiots, take a vote on it!

it may be fantasy but that level of people acting in un- believable ways made the entire story hard to listen to.

I persevered. and it improved, just.

I mean the whole premise of the first book was pretty thin. but this was worse, because I couldn't get into the storyline from the beginning.

it was a bit awkward where you practice a conversation harassing a young lady to have a drink with you but that's about it

essy to learn after a short amount of time you feel like you can say some basic sentences. However some things are different with actual Swahili speakers, the normal greeting I found was habari yako.

The story is great, although you'd want to have read pretty much all of Robin Hobbs books. My only complaint is that sometimes it's frustrating that the reader knows something and it is obvious, but the characters just can't put it together.
The narrator is good and clear although he has made some odd choices regarding the voices of characters. For example, Fitzvigilant seems to be stuck with a voice that puts the reader against him almost by its sound alone. And also the fool does not have a voice that really matches his character, his voice has no speed or pace which would be necessary for his role when he served as the jester when fitz and he were boys in the court - so things like that don't really fit - but it's all understandable and enjoyable.

It's hard to follow the writing itself seems to make hard work of things by being really thick, but the content therein is challenging and good for Christians who are keen not to be deceived in their own heart. I read the first part of this audiobook and went to a bible study, and their found I was picking up on things that were esteemed as a sign or imprint or imparting of God and his grace in our eyes, but this book explains how it is not always the case.

Fun story, well narrated. Has some depth and cleverness to it. Easy listening, I liked it and I'm in my late 20s. Good Christian morals discussed and explored

This book showed me a perspective and thinking on the actual existence of the supernatural. The book does not assume prior knowledge and builds up from the ground its argument, without being condescending - it's mostly easy to follow, and there is nothing too daunting.
In my life it has opened the door for a more complete understanding of everything - not that I understand everything, but God seems less like an invention of human imagination and more like a reasonable explanation of reality.

Would you listen to The Abolition of Man & The Great Divorce again? Why?

Yes, the great divorce has interesting ideas about why someone would choose hell, while there is divine judgement it represents the judgement as a self judgement and decision. And also the first listen of the abolition of man went way over my head. I will need to re- listen. It if anything shows up the problems with audio books you cant easily re-read the last sentence.
