Audio is a mess - fix it

I'm shocked that this was released in such poor condition. The audio levels between the two characters makes it impossible to hear Jason's narration without being blown out by Vanessa's voice when she chimes in. It gets really bad in chapter 4.
Sloane is probably my last fave FMC from this author. She comes off as a horny idiot who never had to answer for her actions, but that's not the life experience that was laid out in previous books for Sloane, Stacy, and their brother Jude. Her actions in London are all either to break the MMCs control or are self centered and childish.
Love listening to Mr Clarke, but his talents were wasted here.
Nothing very funny or dramatic happened. I think the croquet scene was supposed to be the big belly laugh scene, but it was more exasperatingly ridiculous than humorous just made her look like a jerk.
There was this running theme that Sloane doesn't like to be called young, but she's straight-up childish through most of the book.
I don't recommend this one at all. Felt very much an "I was obligated to write the next book in this series" so hoping the next book by M Quinn is better.

Unexpected, but glad I have it a try

I love dark horror, and I love rom com. Butcher and Blackbird was a fun amalgamation - a little light on the humor, but when you're describing serial killers one can't be too irreverent. It was a great balance.
Were there times where it was not believable that people that good at deciphering human nature and stalking their prey would be so obtuse about the motivations of someone who was clearly smitten with them? Yes.
But any annoyance was eclipsed by the heart and heat between these two corrupted souls.
The narration was spectacular. I really loved the subtle moments. The audible breaths taken to bring home the moments of intimacy or urgency... really brought me into the moment.
I know Joe Arden has taken some bad press for alleged abuse - don't know the specifics and I don't trust social media to tell the truth so I'll just hope he accepts responsibility for any harm he's done so he can atone fully and get back to making the magic happen. And Lucy Rivers broke my heart with her performance of the powerfully broken character Sloane. Loved it.

Cute, quick listen

If you have a few hours to kill and looking for some love and laughs, this is a great choice. As always, the narration was hot. Go Teddy!
Loved the friends and family... and the tiny car escapades. The main characters were lovable. My only complaint, and it's not really a complaint, would have loved this short story to have been a full length.

Randi sucks and her narration was so breathy

The story should have been fun. I'm having a bad time getting through it.
Unfortunately, Randi is a bad friend, oblivious to her impact on others, and unprofessional. I'm also having a hard time listening to the narrator's voice. Their voice is grossly breathy, and you can really tell when the producer's had to edit. Not smooth at all. I've had to increase the playback speed to get through it.
Will isn't much better of a character, but the narrator brought him to life.
I'm usually all in for inclusion in literature, but this story is drowning in the ham-handed attempt.
Honestly, only Brian and Randi's friends seemed at all thoughtful and worthy of any empathy.
I also can't picture these characters. Did the authors decide to avoid clearer descriptions on purpose? If so, that's a mistake. I couldn't bring them to life in my head. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

Great world building and fun narration

I enjoyed all three of the Starfall books. Amanda and Teddy brought Molly's characters to life. I wish there was more to come, but this was a good wrap up of all the storylines.

Fun story told well

I wish the Riley/Edison continued in book two, but I'm really happy with how this tale wrapped up. A great witchy adventure told by two of my fave narrators. My only complaint - I would have loved more time with both lead characters.

I am a sucker for romance and I love this tale of the bumpy, sexy, roller-coaster ride of love for Rookie and Dec. I read and listened to this collection and it's a keeper. Comfort food for the soul that I will return to again.
The narration was fantastic. I heard these two in The Best Men and knew that this would be just as good.
