Historia
Caretta Rutledge thought she’d left her Southern roots and troubled family far behind. But an unusual request from her mother – coming just as her own life is spinning out of control – has Cara heading back to the scenic Lowcountry of her childhood summers. Before long, the rhythms of the island open her heart in wonderful ways as she repairs the family beach house, becomes a bona fide “turtle lady” and renews old acquaintances long thought lost.

Inconsistencies in development
Revisado: 11-04-22
The plot seemed to develop inconsistently. Some things that seemed significant weren’t given very much time. Character development felt inconsistent. Their behavior changed in ways that did not align with how the character was introduced. I noticed some grammar mistakes that weren’t glaring, but took away from the overall quality when they were noticed.
The author seemed to improve in these areas over time. Books published in subsequent years had fewer such development inconsistencies. The author is working to mature her craft.

Lovely story
Revisado: 10-15-22
This was the end of a lovely trilogy. I enjoyed getting to know the characters and I liked that each book focused on a different sister.
The only critique that I have is regarding the performance. The use of the heavy southern accent wasn’t always aligned with the character. There were times when non-southern characters, like Harper, spoke with a heavy southern accent even though she grew up in Manhattan. Also there were times when a southern character lost the accent. The variation made it challenging at times to understand who was speaking in a particular dialog.
