A thoroughly enjoyable historical fiction. Recently the inspiration for a made for TV movie you can view on the Disney + Channel. A delight for me as a retired commercial pilot was seeing John Travolta playing the part of the Shepherd. Anyone interested in aviation history, WWII, and/or having piloting experience will certainly enjoy this story and the performance of the reader; 5 Stars all the way! I commend the author for conveying the physical and emotional effect of losing all electrical power and instrumentation would have on a pilot young or older. In the older pre-digital aircraft I grew up flying such situations do sneak up on you. Only training, experience, and a calm disposition gets you home in one piece. I look forward to reading more books by this author!

The Ickabog; a tale worth reading.

A refreshing new twists on some patented storylines I know you will find refreshing and suited to audiences young and young at heart. Good triumphs over evil, villains receive their just rewards, a country is saved, and even a selfish, vane, narcissistic king achieves some self respect in the end. As for the Ickabog well there’s no shortage of surprises there but I’ll leave those explanations to the narrator who voice you’ll recognize straight away. It’s a treat to listen to a very entertaining story told in such an original format. Five stars all around to everyone involved!

Halo - Contact Harvest

There are numerous suggestions on how to tackle the written Halo saga. I feel this book is an extremely well tailored story that reveals many of basic tenets of the Halo history. The author provides the background information about the confrontation between humanity and the multicultural adversaries known as the Covenant. This book is very interesting read and will appeal across many groups seeking to understand the mass of books relating to Halo. Once you have finished this book you will want more, guaranteed.

Everything is Everything

An incredibly well written book explores the life of a teen unknowingly affected by events of the past bouyed up by the strength of of the human spirit and ultimately the strength of love. While not directly addressed the mental disorder Münchausen syndrome is the foundation of the story. A teenage girl, Madeline “Maddy”, grows up cocooned in an airtight home to protect her against a rare disease called Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SKID). Sheltered from the outside world Maddy’s desire for a life outside is kindle when she meets Olly a high schooler who moves next door. The teens like Romeo and Juliet become romantically involved and Maddy wants more of a normal life her mother Dr. Whittier says isn’t possible. The bubble cocoon bursts when Maddy buys tickets to Hawaii and the teens make a break for two days on the beach. Needless to say things don’t go well for Mandy and Olly; but you will learn the rest of the story when you read the book or see the movie. You will enjoy it!

HaLo Battle Born: Meridian Divide

Excellent book; as a sequel it continued an adventure of four high school students thrust into harms way and catipuled into the struggle to save humanity. Action packed but written for young adults it’s perfect to capture the imagination and spark interest in science, aviation, astrophysics, and more. I hope Cassandra Rose Clark publishes another book the series soon!

Review "Ready Player One"

Ready Player One is an exciting portal of a young gamer on a quest to find a magic egg. The story is a non-stop kalidiscope of action packed adventures requiring keen problem solving, well equipped and motivated adversaries, seemingly never ending challenges, and much heroic bravery and sacrifices. A great read for fans young and older. Don't miss it!

This novel is another exciting and entertaining effort by James Rawles. I can only assume that a printed copy will be the same as the Audible performance. As the excitement builds your reading of the hardcopy will capture your imagination and you will feel like you are part of the action. Hats off to Mr. James Wesley Rawles

While considered a fictional book, it definitely in a category of possible truth cloaked in a fictional wrapper. Well-written edge of the seat can't put it down collection of great stories. A must read!

The Reaper

I have literally read hundreds of Audible Formatted Books cutting across both fiction and non-fiction stories. I could provide some pretty deep reflections on this book as filtered through my own 25 year Army career but that isn’t what I want to pass on to prospective readers. First and foremost I want to strongly recommend the book for several reasons. The character of the book is a straightforward and factual depiction of Special Operations close combat against motivated adversaries fighting in some of the most unforgiving terrain and weather. It is easy to see how Nicholas Irving grew and matured into the capable professional soldier he became. The book provides an excellent depiction of the caliber of young soldiers serving in the elite units such as the Army Rangers and other units in the Special Operations arena. It is also very evident throughput the book the dedication these young soldiers have for the men they serve with under adverse and demanding circumstances. The book is an outstanding read and deserves acknowledgement as being amongst the best books to come out of the Iraq and Afghan theaters.

This book is electric with its non-stop action, story line, and the author’s almost mystical portrayal of a galaxy wide conflict. This new series promises to both entertain and capture the imagination of readers around the world.
