LOVE THIS BOOK!
Revisado: 12-21-22
I loved the story and I loved the pace. I’m not typically into sci-fi but this had me hooked from the first chapter. This novel turned this reluctant sci-fi reader into a believer!

The only person not looking forward to the party of the year is Nina herself.

Historia
All 16-year-old Cameron wants is to get through high school - and life in general - with a minimum of effort. It's not a lot to ask. But that's before he's given some bad news: he's sick and he's going to die. Which totally sucks. Hope arrives in the winged form of Dulcie, a loopy punk angel/possible hallucination with a bad sugar habit. She tells Cam there is a cure - if he's willing to go in search of it.

Fantastic story! Unexpected and quirky
Revisado: 01-07-22
Loved this book! I had no idea what to expect and it surprised me at every chapter. The performance was good, however, the voice was too… well… old. The story is told by a 16 year old teen and the reading voice sounded about 50 and like the movie phone guy. But the story was a 10/10 for me.

Historia
Ron Hansen has won an Award in Literature from the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters for his rich writing and poetic style. Atticus begins in the vein of a contemporary western. As it unfolds, it includes an intriguing murder mystery and a dramatic parable of the prodigal son. For years, prosperous Colorado rancher Atticus Cody has tried to understand his rootless son, Scott, who is now living a marginal life in Mexico.

Laborious at first, but the story gets good!
Revisado: 12-02-21
I gave the story four stars. It was a great story, lots of twists and turns. It could easily be a Netflix show that anyone would enjoy. However, I found the author’s writing to be laborious at first. There were details that the reader simply didn’t need. For example, does the reader need to know that the washer at Scott’s villa was of the Maytag variety? Or that the horse feed was chicken flavored? Certainly not. The first two chapters were quite frustrating, but then it got really good.

Good book, narration was irritating at times.
Revisado: 11-04-21
The storyline on its own was pretty good. Some of the characters drove me crazy, but without giving the story away, I won’t say much else. My biggest problem was with the narrators voice. He seemed to have taken a mocking tone when a lot of the adults were speaking, and his acting voice was way over done, and probably contributed to my irritation toward the characters. I might have felt differently if I read the book on my own.
