Historia
We shipped two British Jeeps 3,500 miles back to the USA, before embarking on a 5,500-mile coast-to-coast road-trip from New York to LA. Along the way, we tackled the world-famous trails of Moab, took a tour of the nearby national parks, and sampled a few of Colorado's most scenic byways. Over the course of three weeks we were almost arrested, swallowed by a tornado, and nearly mugged in Las Vegas. The Jeeps broke down, caught fire, and were nearly confiscated. But we also met some incredible people, all of whom contributed in their own way to this story.

just needed to be longer

I wanted to know more, mora about the two drivers 4x4 history back home, more about the jeeps, more about tricky obstacles etcetera. I was hoping for that feeling you get after watching a full top gear special, where you know, love, and hate each vehicle for all they have been through together.

Historia
In upstate New York, in the woods around Woodstock, Dutchman's Creek flows out of the Ashokan Reservoir. Steep-banked, fast-moving, it offers the promise of fine fishing, and of something more, a possibility too fantastic to be true. When Abe and Dan, two widowers who have found solace in each other's company and a shared passion for fishing, hear rumors of the Creek, and what might be found there, the remedy to both their losses, they dismiss it as just another fish story.

Too much story in a book?
Revisado: 01-16-21
I appreciate character building and setup, many books and movies lack this. So I'm not sure why I get tired of it in this book. As others have complained, the way the story is broken up makes sense but isn't really enjoyable. It seems like every story has to have a backstory or a tangentially related blurb that ends up being a chapter long. It also felt like the author didn't want or didn't know how to end the book so you get these continuations where you think come on already wrap it up. I really enjoy Lovecraftian themes and this book has those but in comparison to books like The Lighthouse Keeper, this book left me feeling meh instead of frantically searching for what else the author has out there.

Historia
A terrifying mystery of the sea. In December 1900, three lighthouse keepers vanished without trace from the remote Scottish island of Eilean Mòr. An emergency relief crew was sent to man the lighthouse. At the end of their month-long duty, they resigned from their posts, and never spoke of what they had experienced on the island. The mystery of Eilean Mòr has never been solved. Until now. In the present, a group of environmental researchers arrives on the island to observe the wildlife.

Lovecraftian readers will enjoy

Great narration, zero complaints there. I went into this book hoping for a good story that touched on real events, I was not aware of the cosmic horror aspect and was pleasantly surprised as I enjoy that genre very much.
