Extraordinary speculative fiction

Like nothing else I’ve ever read. A space opera set on earth. A future that is both dystopian and full of hope and wonder. A fantastic vision of where we could be headed societally and universally. Even the areas where suspension of disbelief are required are done artistically. Super interesting futuristic imagination.

Fantasy/sci-if historical fiction, but set in the current day. As a white woman, I learned a ton and enjoyed a good story and excellently developed characters. Narration also excellent. Important stuff; a great way to learn.

Ridiculous how many times Butcher describes women’s appearances as sex objects. The book is rife with it. Hey Jim, Harry would have evolved past that crap. Let him grow up. This time, the story-telling is mediocre. Makes the drooling all that much more apparent.

This course is literally awesome. Dr. Macdonald creates a sense of wonder. She is funny and makes learning astrophysics accessible and entertaining. Her knowledge of sci-fi is expansive - I’m going to watch series and movies she describes!! This course is fantastic for anyone who loves space operas or space-based sci-fi and wants to understand space-time.

Veronica Rueckert does an amazing job using her very own voice to tell her own story and help us learn to use ours. She is a amazing teacher. She made me fascinated about my voice, my habits, and ways I may more fully embody it. Her book and her voice are super fun to listen to and made me laugh. I want to learn more and practice using my breath and voice to it’s fullest. This book provides so many fun allusions, so much relevant “trivia” and data, and ways to practice exploring ways to breath, be, and speak. Thank you Veronica!
