Wandering, indeed!
Revisado: 06-21-22
I love the narration, she's amazing. I could listen to her read from the phone book. But the story meanders too much. I felt manipulated and taken advantage of. The twist and turns were too cunning by half and I longed for it to be over. With all that I still love her stories I just she wish she wasn't so disingenuous with us as readers and cut the number of characters in half. I'm ordering the 3rd in this series nonetheless.

Gruesome enough to be enticing

Sometimes the twists and turns were unbearably unbelievable but the blood and gore was awesome.

Good story, too many characters
Revisado: 07-11-21
I liked the story but it took me a few hours before I warmed to it. The first 3-4 hours were a slog, too much jumping between characters it was very confusing. Once the story settled into it self I felt more vested in what was going on and enjoyed it. Hang in there, it get better.

well written but pretentious
Revisado: 04-01-21
The narration was transcendent! The story was transfixed with self and pretentious bording on tedium. Think The Giver or Where the Crowdads Are but not as good or memorable. Margaret's character and Oliver's were so underdeveloped and maskless. I struggled to want to know more. At the last 1/3 I stopped really caring I just wanted it to be over. The narrator is the star!
